3080 with a refund v 3090 with a premium

As a 3090 owner (and previous 3080, 3080 ti and 6900 xt owner), the 3090 is categorically not worth £400 more than a 3080 for gaming. I'd be looking at a 3080 8gb or 12gb or 6800 xt now if I was sans card.
As for those saying "wait", there won't be any cards apart from possibly the 4090 available for purchase this year -- so, really no sense in waiting 4-5 months (at least) to get a card.
