Yeah they will be on sale for a while yet as they are manufactured they then go on sale, just small quantities so far.

Wow, I'm surprised at that, thought you was an AMD guy.I ended up getting a 3090.

Hope you enjoy your new card.
Yeah, most probably will be thinking that. I give nvidia a hard time as they deserve it, but I have owned many cards over my years building PC's. I tried for the 3080s when they came out, I then tried for the 6800/XT and fell short. In a dejected state the wife found an FE card and said why dont you get on finance, and after laughing at her realised she was serious, it went through as I had enough time to complete process whereas the other cards you wouldnt have had that much time!
If wifes rubber stamped it, not complaining. Would have continued to try for the 3080/6800XT as thats more my price point but now I can get back to other tasks instead of checking sites and wasting time. I also do mining on cheap rate electric overnight and development work so the extra VRAM will certainly be nice. Not got it in had yet as the couriers like to torture me on any goods sometimes taking a full week to travel..
it doesn't have DLSS which is a thing in the games I'll be playing. and VRAM on the RTX is handy for design stuff.
So even if the AMD card is a bit cheaper, and a bit faster, overall the experience feels a little lacking.

You still looking?Result!
Well almost, hope you get your card soon.
You still looking?
Don't think there has been a UK 3080 drop since I got one has there? Seen a few 3070 and 3090 drops though.
If you got the FE in UK you should get it next working day or following day, DPD delivers it.
@N19h7m4r3 you seen this fella?
Will agree I think if the 3080 had some more VRAM it would have been to sweet spot to last some time. I dont just game on my machine so all these extra things matter. I have been doing the GRID/BOINC stuff before mining was a thing, and then mining since 2012. It will also give me a nudge to check out the CUDA stuff with parallel compute software, even password brute forcing is worth a look.
A bit of a giggle at that. Technically you're in the UK, and it'll never be next day.![]()
The rainforest manages it quite a lot. DPD seem to add an extra day while the guys in birmingham wash the vans, let them dry, do a stock take, then load the stuff following morning.
How many days was your turnaround? I think as my order was so late (just after 6pm) it was picked up the next day, maybe yours made the 4pm cut-off and was in transit in time for an overnight crossing?
Yes, I made the 4pm cutoff, my order went through 15:36; and was shipped later that day.
I got lucky. Still took them 2 days
Did your tracking have two steps at HUBs in birmingham? I really should make a file and note the precise steps so whenever I have to use them I can calculate the real turnaround and compare timestamps. Its not bad as Im WFH these days but when I was normally working it was likely the delivery would land when nobody could sign for it.
It didn't no, hit that hell hole, then spent 2 days saying on the way to depot, and suddenly I got the text it's out for delivery.
Like it skipped the tracking scan where it was actually in Ireland.
Can't help ya, but the I have to hand it to the seller; it came in a massive box with that giant 15cm big plastic bubble bags.OK, well I have seen that many a time here myself, trying to work out if its sent using lorry freight over the ferry or air mail. I am only thinking the former as there is no reason it should take more than a day otherwise.
Yes still looking, one day I'll get one.You still looking?
