30xx Series Founders Edition

I think they are phasing out the 3080 as it is being shifted to GA103 from GA102 while 3080 Ti will be getting GA102. That’s why there are no drops for the 3080.

Don't really understand the boost/overclock on my 3070FE LOL - out the box it runs pretty solidly at 1920MHz with the odd drop to 1860 with perfcap reason power but any changes - increase or decrease power limit, change voltage curve up or down, change fan curve, etc. seem to make it worse with drops to 1815 (no change to perfcap reason). Seem to be missing something LOL.

see what happens when you undervolt it..

Edit: sorry just realised you already tried that..

Doesn't seem to make any odds - GPU-z shows it hitting 240 watt whatever I do with the same frequency regardless or worse.
that is strange behaviour.
does it do it in every game / benchamark..?

I'm running my 3080 undervolted and it sits at 1935-1920 depending on temperature.

Haven't really tried any benchmarks yet other than in game ones like The Division - all the games I've tried show the same behaviour.

Might try some different drivers when I get some time - only ones I've tried so far with it are 457.30.

maybe try setting power management mode to prefer maximum performance if you haven't yet and see what happens.

Me too. I've been keeping an eye on the Nvidia site all day. Either nothing has come in or they have and sold out in between my site refreshes! :(

I wonder if whoever it was who was waiting for their card to go out today (that I think seeded the idea that they'd be a drop today) has heard anything? I suppose its possible if they oversold the last allocation then any drop since has gone straight into filling those backorders?

Intriguing goes to 1935MHz but clocks down on the desktop as well - I usually use adaptive as on my 1070 it didn't make any difference to in-game clocks but didn't clock down properly at idle with prefer maximum performance.

When I've got some time will have a play with prefer maximum performance and changing stuff.

I ended up getting a 3090.

Oh snap.

Nothing since last wednesday and the next drop will be this wednesday in all likelyhood nvidia won't want to miss the chance to carpet bomb AMDs 6800 AIB preorder launch...

They didn't exactly carpet-bomb last Wednesday though. I'd suspect they just want to get cards to market whenever they can actually manage it, rather some cunning party-spoiling master plan.
