I think the 3070fe is poor value you either go performance 3080 or cheap 3060ti Nvidia should have at least included a free game with the 3070`s

Depends a bit - albeit the game has a lot of issues - but 3070FE just about manages 1440p with ultra settings + ray tracing in CP2077 but only just - 3060ti probably is just a step to far down and/or bigger sacrifice in IQ using DLSS on auto.
 
3070 is on average 15% faster at 4K than the 3060Ti, so it's a good proposition for people that want a viable 4K card for as little as possible.

It won't win on any £ per frame charts now that the 3060Ti is out, but it's the difference between average 40 fps and 35 fps, higher 1% lows, or having to turn a few more settings down to achieve a desired frame rate.

Also being able to get performance that recently (and still does bizarrely) cost £1,200 for £470 is nuts.

3060Ti is amazing though.

Yeah he isn’t really wrong though, because where we should look is where it is priced relative to the 3060Ti and the 3080 rather than previous gen (talking msrp here, scalped prices are insane of course).

When looking at it that way the 3070 would probably arguably really be better positioned at £430 msrp with the 3060Ti at £370 and the 3080 at £650 as it is closer in performance to the former than the latter.

I would have gone for the 3080 personally if I could get one, but the 3070 is arriving today apparently and MSFS 2020 VR is launching today so it’s serendipitous timing! We shall see if I stick with it until next gen or have a cheeky upgrade in the next few months.

At 1440 the average % for your £ scales fairly close to linear. You can analyze it whatever way you want depending on which card you think is priced correct.

% from tpu
£369 - 100%
£469 - 113%
£649 - 139%

For some (me included) the jump to £649 was too much and I'll need that little bit extra over the 3060ti for the next few years.

Same.. Was expecting a delivery from another company today and low and behold I got a message this morning with a DPD delivery slot.. but then an exact one with the same time slot from the company delivering a 3070..

So same driver delivering both items from 2 different companies.. Had no previous sign to show I'd actually got a 3070 other than today's delivery confirmation.

Ideally I wanted the 3080 series FE card but quite tempted to use the 3070 now.. Most my gaming and streaming games is done in 1440/1080..

Wonder if it would affect resale cost an awful lot if I used the 3070 for a month or so and sold on 'should' a 3080 of my choice appear.
 
The 3080 is a seriously well made piece of kit. Hopefully this is the blueprint for how cards look and feel moving forward.

Shame others are having to pay more for less or wait months on end given how its mostly luck getting one of these.

I caved and opened up my first one to finish my new PC build. I left it for over a week waiting for a 3080 drop. Luckily all the hardware worked when I finally did :).
