30xx Series Founders Edition

any one know what the fan is by the IO side?

I want to replace it with one that makes less noise when the stuff arrives for changing the pads.

Decided I'd do this first before I sink £600 on watercooling.

I wonder the ratio of the batch size to resold ebay/cex. Probably 70%+ are resold.

I bet we don't get any more. I'm surprised they are bothering to still make them.

Especially if in other countries there is less of the bad practice.

Why not just water cool it first? You will have to repad it to anyway when you do your waterblock, I used Gelid Extremes rather than the ones that EK supply.

I thinking its 600£ lol. Lot of cash and I game with my headphones on so sound is less of a concern.

Soo...do I need to replace the back side thermal pads? Or just leave them on the backplate and pit the lid back on?
You don`t need to do the back side and it`s a lot easier if you don`t, looking at other posts there is only 2-3 degrees difference.
When you do decide to do it run the Heaven benchmark for 20-30 minutes, this gets the thermal pads nice and warm and then the cooler will just lift off with hardly any effort.

Good stuff. Only bought the extreme 2mm. I'm more excited about my ifixit kit.

Oddly my temps are back to 98-100 for mining this evening.

Still.
