30xx Series Founders Edition

Thanks.

I had a quick google and it seems Corsair's Icue software can control the 3080's led's!

And as I already run that for my Strafe RGB keyboard, I'll be using that.

Just got to wait for the eternity it takes to update Icue.

Also, didn't realise that the triangular led on the 3080 Ti is RGB!

Yeah icue would be better to use if you have other devices using it as well :) best try to get everything working in 1 place

Scratch that, my mobo is too old and doesn't support it.

Will wait until I get my new 12700K system built.

Early days yet, but I've undervolted it to only use 781Mv @ 1770Mhz and it's gone from using up to 400W @ 1965Mhz (lolz) to around half that, but maintaining the same FPS and with less noise.

Played Days Gone for half an hour with no crashes, so far so good.

How is your 2080 ti using so much power stock? Mine uses 348 watts max!

Well I put the core voltage, power and temp limit up to the max in AB, as that's what I used to do with my 1070, colour me surprised at that power usage!

Jeremy Clarkson would be impressed! :D

The temp was hitting up to 79C at that and a bit loud for my liking, the Days Gone run I did with an undervolt, it only hit around 61-2C, much quieter fans but still hitting 100FPS maxed out.

This is the guide I used, but upped it to 1770, tried 1800 but it crashed.

THink this thread is the one to post in, my 80 Ti arrived today and oh man is it a thing of HEFT and beauty. Emphasis on heft as this thing weighs what feels like nearly twice that of my 2070 Super Gaming OC, yet is slightly smaller in all dimensions.

There is no sag when installed either, so the sag bracket will go to the new owner of the 2070 as a freebie :p

CP2077 on the 2070 Super (3440x1440, RTX Ultra, RTX lighting on Psycho, DLSS on Quality, GFX preset on Ultra otherwise):

CP2077 on 3080 Ti with same settings:

My CPU is breathing very nicely now. CP 2077 is the exception and highlights how much optimisation that engine lacks even still but with DLSS set to balanced I can get 60fps in it or more if I set RTX Lighting to Ultra instead of Psycho.
Nice, I regret not clicking "Place Order" when I had the ti in basket, I just thought the 3080 would pop in that night or next day which it did and I was there when it dropped but didnt get in fast enough :(

If the TI pops up again im just buying it, still cheaper than AIB extortion and they sell out slower.

Should have just clicked, save myself some stress/headache/lack of sleep and paranoia about every sound discord makes, £400 for peace of mind and 12gb instead of 10gb of memory.

Just waiting to hear back from OC about my return of case before I place order in for another case, I have had 12700k, MSI Z690 Tomahawk DDR4 and 32GB memory sitting here for 2 weeks lol.

First week I was spring cleaning in room, re-organizing then I went through a few days of hell with case so hopefully can get 80-100% refund on that to pick up the Mesh II and some sleeved cables.

It's a shame the scene is what it is currently, sure you will be in line for the next drop though!

Mine ended up being £585 as now sold my 2070 Super so I'm chuffed with that.as it keeps me in-line with spending around the £500 in raw cost for a GPU each time I upgrade.

Nice, as long as it lasts at least the next 5 years im good :) I am trying very hard not to take the 1080 out of this one, I want to keep it completely intact and I do have a spare 670gtx I can use as an interim assuming it works because worst case ill have to use this machine if I run into any issues.

1080/1440 resolution atm and if I did have a 4k I wouldnt mind bumping it down resolution to keep all the options up.

Has anyone tried resizeable BAR on the 3070FE recently? When it first came out it seemed to give hardly any gains but just wondering whether it’s worth it or not now?

With delivery costs factored in, my net spend to upgrade to a 3080 was £186. The unicorn card was always the one I was after. Now I know why people bang on about Telegram and FE Partalert so much.

That's how I justified my 3080ti.

Sold my Vega56 for £420 (£200 profit) so the new card "only" cost me £600.

GPU market is crazy at the moment.

I guess ultimately we are the winners here? It took all this effort, but we now have cards in our systems that are considerably faster than what we had before, and we've sold our old cards for pretty much what we paid for them a year+ ago, or made a nice profit lol. For less than £50 more than what I bought the 2070 Super Gaming OC, I've gained 70fps in Horizon and can now play CP2077 in native res with Psycho RTX and Ultra settings at 60+ fps. That's pretty crazy even if the card kicks out more heat and keeps me warm during the cold season (the cooler on this FE is more efficient than the one on the Gigabyte at exhausting heat through the back) :p

I even installed Metro Enhanced edition last night and that ran 80+ fps where the 2070 Super could be around 40fps lol with the same settings.

I have, a few fps difference in Horizon and CP2077, nothing major really and tallies up with nVidia's own slides that it's some 5% faster.

You tried undervolting yet?

Honestly, it's a revelation, I played RDR2 last night for a good hour, whacked everything I could to the max, including water reflections, physics, RT godrays, the lot, and it never went above 63C, with the lowest FPS around 55 (normally in the high seventies) when I was splashing through the most lovely looking water! This is at 3440x1440 btw.

Gsync comes into its own here as well, lovely smooth gameplay.

I haven't undervolted yet, what tool is needed for that? I haven't actually installed anything other than GeForce Experience which I use a lot and the drivers :p

This was the strange reality, others could not see the wood for the trees! On one hand mining made these cards hard to obtain and prices increased, yet on the other hand an old gen card that was likely out of warranty or well used was worth the same or more than what they paid for!

Is some cases people made profit out of it. Its hard to see in a negative way how upgrading either cost you a small amount or nothing yet people were foaming at the mouth about it.
