30xx Series Founders Edition

I haven't undervolted yet, what tool is needed for that? I haven't actually installed anything other than GeForce Experience which I use a lot and the drivers :p

Just the latest version of MSI Afterburner.

I left the youtube link on how to do it (really easy) in my post #11587 above.

I guess ultimately we are the winners here? It took all this effort, but we now have cards in our systems that are considerably faster than what we had before, and we've sold our old cards for pretty much what we paid for them a year+ ago, or made a nice profit lol. For less than £50 more than what I bought the 2070 Super Gaming OC, I've gained 70fps in Horizon and can now play CP2077 in native res with Psycho RTX and Ultra settings at 60+ fps. That's pretty crazy even if the card kicks out more heat and keeps me warm during the cold season (the cooler on this FE is more efficient than the one on the Gigabyte at exhausting heat through the back) :p

I even installed Metro Enhanced edition last night and that ran 80+ fps where the 2070 Super could be around 40fps lol with the same settings.

I have, a few fps difference in Horizon and CP2077, nothing major really and tallies up with nVidia's own slides that it's some 5% faster.

Yep, 2070s to 3080 earlier this year, zero cents out of my pocket spent :D

A win-win :D

I've followed the video, simple enough! Does MSI Afterburner need to be running at startup for the changes to take effect after a reboot?

Here's how mine looks so hopefully all is good, gonna game now to test.

Edit***
Seems this does not work for me in Cyberpunk. The game loads into the world but then within a moment just crashes with a game error message saying it flatlined (the usual CTD error) using the exact undervolt settings shown in the video. I noticed that GFE was reporting 245watts usage at the time for the brief moment was in the game though so the UV did apply.

I've reverted back to stock for now and all is well again.

Yeh, just set AB to start with Windows.

I'll have to try CP2077 again (spit) with mine to see how I get on.

We found if you use RT in games it asks of an extra % from the cores so you need to up the regular volts a smidge to stop the crashing!

THink this thread is the one to post in, my 80 Ti arrived today and oh man is it a thing of HEFT and beauty.

That's the best looking PC I've seen in a long time. No RGB. Everything matches in black/grey without it looking that you might have specifically gone out of your way to achieve it (even if you might have). Deliberately non matching mobo 3v/5v cable in red is perfect. Decent number of fans - ie not 10+. If its in a case without a window, then that's probably my perfect PC.

Ahh that makes sense, do you know of a decent % to add out of interest? I could play about a bit but it might mean I'm faffing for a while too which if a bit faffy :D

Thanks! I kinda knew it was a theme I was going for as wanted something a bit more "military" if that makes sense over my previous build that I upgraded from which was black and red themed in a non tinted side panel case:

Whereas this new build is grey/black with the power connector black/red as a small bit of separation and kinda matches the little red accents dotted around the mobo I think. :D

This new build does have a glass side panel (Corsair 5000D Airflow case) but it's dark tinted so you only see the glow of the RTX logo and the mobo boot status LED which is red

Your graph/curve doesn't look correct mrk, should look something like this, iirc, make sure you hold shift or something when dragging the curve

Also, I reckon your undervolt is far too low, .825 is about as low as you could go imo but can't say for certain as not read too much on the ti model.

Ah fair enough, I guess the same values should work for me too.

I've also noticed that Phanteks will send you a 12 pin FE connector that goes straight into the PSU if you provide proof of purchase of both PSU and FE. So I've emailed them and see what they say :D

Is yours a 3080 Ti too? Is that peak at 1850MHz where the 825mV tails?

Nah I got a 3080 but I think they're all much the same when it comes to UV.

Dont mention the VRAM!! ;) :p

Yes it should be very similar. The cable will make an edge - looking forward to the pro photo update! :)

Trade secret!

Edit( Having now played around with undervolting I can see that my particular card will crash on cyberpunk with my current settings (3440x1440 max RTX, Ultra etc) after a short while of gaming. That's even at 875mV and to be more stable I need over 900mV even at 1800MHz core clock vs the boosted stock clock of 1965 HWinfo reports.

At this point the power draw is just over 300 watts so I may as well just leave it at stock really. The temps remain between 70 and 80 though even at stock so not a major deal I guess although the mem junction temp reaches high 90s at times. Junction thermal throttle is at 115 degrees though so not reaching any max so that's fine also.

Ah well.

Edit 2*

I have now installed the latest Game Ready drivers as was using the December Studio drivers and ran the Horizon benchmark. There's a 10fps difference with the min framerate and overall a higher score and average fps.

Resize-BAR was on for both.
