30xx Series Founders Edition

I wonder if they will just not bother with dropping cards like the RTX 3080 FE in the UK, from now on? And just sell them all in Europe at a slightly higher price?

I cant see them making many more there eyes will be on 4xxx series. What was it 2xxx Aug 2018, 3xxx Aug 2020 so 4xxx Aug 2022 onwards.

Are they using the same production nodes for the 4xxx? Otherwise I would expect them to keep making the 3xxx cards due to the demand. That's why they went back to making more 2xxx series cards a few months ago - because there was capacity on that node.

Who knows, they might be sacrificing capacity on one node so they can use the space for other nodes.

Oh yeah, they'll be looking to upgrade nodes, but I imagine they'll do this in a very controlled way to try to fit the demand profiles. They have customers for the capacity on the older nodes - example being nvidia decising to start making more 2xxx series GPUs - would Nvidia rather keep making these, or wait 12-18months while that capacity is offline to upgrade it? Its a tough choice.

But you're right, "who knows" is the real answer :)

CEX are only paying £446 to buy RTX 3070 FEs now... Now less than what I bought one for.

Is the price they pay mostly tied to crypto currency value, while taking into account the impending end of GPU mining on Ethereum?

So, what's going on then? Are they anticipating that Ethereum mining will be impossible by around June 2022?

Maybe they are hoping people will trade for CEX vouchers instead.

Mining profits are still ****, have been for a month now. Guess it's just coincidence that gpu stock and pricing is improving over this period......

CEX don’t monitor bitcoin prices, they just follow supply and demand. So either supply is high or demand is low and it’s putting a downward pressure on prices.

Probably reduced demand as well.

Somebody was buying those cards from CEX even at the inflated price.
If those customers are now not buying (miners) and CEX are holding more cards in stock it would make sense for them to drop their buy price.

In normal times CEX give pretty poor prices for electronics, we might be seeing a slight return to normality.

That sounds plausible - A drop in demand from miners buying cards from CEX.

Hopefully they will keep bringing the crazy selling prices down if demand keeps falling, they've only reduced these by approx. 10-15%.

They probably have loads of cards they’re struggling to shift, so don’t really want to buy any more. However, if someone’s stupid enough to sell to them for £446 they’ll be happy to take the card off their hands.
