30xx Series Founders Edition

Those cables are stupidly expensive (and I think I had to pay for postage on top), but they do look a lot better than the splitter that comes with the 3080 FE!

Anyone bought an aftermarket power cable for the 30 series?

I've managed to break the little locking tab off of mine when rebuilding the case a few times, also managed the same on the cable for my old 3060Ti and only took that out 2/3 times, they're proper flimsy..
I wanted to get corsair's own, but it was out of stock at the time, so I got one from modDIY for $22.99, it's been fine for the last 6 months.

3090ti available now. But seems pointless as most people who would want a 3090ti will go for the TUF version for very similar money.

I've noticed stock has been available since release. I would love a founders edition card, I think they look arguably better than any AIB card and we're close to the limits for overclocking headroom, but don't want to buy it until someone buys my 3090.

I'd hate to be lumbered with 2 cards. I know what will happen, by the time someone buys my card I won't be able to find a founders at retail price.

no real reviews of the 3090ti FE I can see and with AIB being same or so close to the FE in price I would go with the AIB cards the few reviews I have watched for the AIB cards they have very good mem temps and also gpu temps considering they are using more power

Do you think AIB card's have better resale value?

I don't mean scalping but for upgrading?

I'd normally always avoid the reference cards as they were generally always loud, cheap feeling and minimal gains but the high end AIB card's aren't actually much better than the latest reference cards.

It's not even like before where there were massive overclocking gains.

I also think the 30 series founder cards look immense. A lot of the AIB look cheap.

resale I dont know I have 3080Fe myself luckily FE this time do look good because AIB 3080 at the time went for £1200-£1300 so was no brainer , the novelty has worn off how it looks would prefer AIB card vertically mounted

you need to look at some reviews cant see any 3090ti FE reviews vram temps should be improved because all being side dont know if they are still using the same thermal pads pretty sure all the AIB will have better temps all round and are priced same or just above

Personally feel you would get worse card for the same price or just slightly above

Yeah I noticed the AIB Ti have re-located the VRAM modules so temps are far better, not sure if the founder's edition have. I'm assuming the change has made on the founders hence why the AIB card's have it. Otherwise I'd imagine the 3090 AIB's would have had the change

£11.60 here with free worldwide shipping seems pretty decent. This is the correct cable right?

Yep, what I use in my builds, also with corsair PSU. They are pretty good, ordered bunch of times from them. Shipping can be long though for some methods.

They have moved to using 2GB modules only on one side of the PCB including founders edition. EK put a post out about it when referring to the active backplate for the 3090Ti FE card: https://www.ekwb.com/news/rtx-3090-ti-getting-ek-water-blocks/

Yes, even though the RTX 3090 Ti has 2GB RAM chips, which are all located on the front side, we know that people who purchase these cards want the very best performance. While there will not be as much benefit to the VRAM compared to a regular 3090.....

both do but the AIB will be cooler as the heatsink are bigger and 3 fans and AIB likely using better thermal pads

If that's the exact same as the "Seasonic" cable, that cable is only $10+ shippping, at least in USA.

https://www.btosinte.com/Seasonic-T...ls-Micro-Fit-30-16AWG-VGA-SS-MF12P-9A-VGA.htm

I know Corsair is a Seasonic reseller, but they also have other OEM's like FSP and Superflower and Greatwall and so on...

Find out if your PSU is a rebadged Seasonic Prime/Focus housing.

3090Ti is still available, that's surely a finger at Nvidia at this point, I wonder how many there are left in stock, wasted silicon that could have been made into 3080FE's...

Not as high margin on 3080 though, probably used for 3080ti would have been better

Saying that few times the 3080ti has stayed instock for hours and probably now be less demand

Probably will be desperate to get rid of them once used on 3080

Yeah i get that they make more on the other models, but they're less likely to shift them, surely its best to get the sure sales than chase the less likely to sell units?

The 3090Ti's will sell out when the new cards release as no one will be able to buy them lol.

I still can't believe the general consensus online is that the next gen cards will be readily available and cheap.

The 3080Ti and above equivalents will cost 4 figures...
