330Ci Sport/M-Sport

Here's the link: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201302165369980

They're located on the outskirts of Lymington. I take back what I said about it being a minter though sorry..I've got mixed up with another silver one they had; the one I've linked was in great condition but needed all 4 alloys refurbed.

Don't suppose you saw what this one was like?

I keep pondering whether to go visit one week as I work up that way a few days a week.

Fox..how tricky was your Dynavin nav installation? Did you have any kind of nav in your car to start with or did you have to fit all the associated gubbins such as GPS aerial etc?

At the moment I'm only looking at cars with factory nav, but if I can start looking at cars without then that should widen the options.

Its fairly easy in an E46, you need to get a new panel to relocate the climate control where the sunglass holder would normally be, theres two different types too, once that's done it pretty much just slots in, I was going to do it to mine but decided against it in the end

It was fairly straightforward though the E39 doesnt need HVAC control relocation whereas the E46 does. I did not have Nav to start with. Fitting the GPS antenna was simply a case of plugging it in and routing it to the side of the dash.

Cars registered from 2005 onwads are M Sport and not Sport. As the Saloon and Touring were out of production by then the only M Sport you will find are Coupes and Cabriolets. It is nothing to do with the facelift, there are many facelift Sport cars.

Mine is a sport coupe registered in March 2005 - the V5C says it's a Sport although it's got all the M badges/bumpers/suspension/wheels/etc.
Happened to have the v5c scanned for a parking application so there you go.

If I was selling a 330ci Sport I too would call it a 330ci M-Sport. Most people that look at the advert won't know the difference between the two (ie. Nothing) and will immediately assume the "M-Sport" one is better hence be more inclined to look at my advert which means I may sell my car sooner!

So you'd technically misrepresent your car? :p

Buyer beware isn't it?

I remember you berating me for describing my e38 as a sport when it wasn't in your view, thing is, as I said at the time, I got few if any iirc calls when it was advertised as a plain old 728i, once I readvertised it as a "sport", it sold.

Job done from my point of view as a seller!

Nothing to do with my view - it wasn't one, end of story! It was a 1998 R plate car, the E38 Sport was a facelift only model! They were fitted from the factory with black headlining, 18 inch Style 37's etc, neither of which your car had.

Presumably because people thought it was something it wasn't.

I can see the point with the 330Ci thing and I'm just being pedantic but IMHO yours was something totally different. People want 'Sport'. You didn't have that, so simply advertised that you did and managed to sell it to somebody who didn't know any better.
