They do, thats why they all buy diesels.

No they decide on a diesel over petrol because the company tells them too, or they subscribe to the usual diesel brainwash ****.

Take my word for it when you get to the spending 40k on a car stage another 5mpg means jack ****.

Company car buyers buy on CO2 - and CO2 and MPG are proportional.

Trust me - this is why there are 10 330d's for every 335d :p

When spending £20k on a used car, though...

Enough people cared about the 6mpg difference to make BMW discontinue the 330i Saloon and Touring. 5mpg matters to people.

If it didnt, we'd see a lot more 335d's. They are still reasonably rare cars whereas the 330d sells very well.

Yes thats all absolutely right, the point i am trying badly as usual to make is this...

Regardless of how few 335s they sell, once you do decide to buy one, they are happy with a auto and a slight dive in economy. BMW dont not sell manual ones to **** them self for a few quid, they do it because there is no market.

No, they do it because they do not have available a manual box that can handle the torque at the flywheel the x35d has. Thats the reason - it isnt because there is no market, it is a technical limitation.

A manual box is available across the rest of the range including the more powerful, faster 335i.

In that case i admit defeat :D

Dont get me wrong, I think the 335d is great. I'm just explaining why some dont like the fact its an auto :p

If one turns up next year with the perfect spec who knows!

I probably would have went for a 335d if it was manual, i understand why it cant be, but i really do prefer manuals

I swear to god i cant see the appeal of changing gear no more, you know how often i use my paddles, never.

Took me one go to realise that was hard work :) Want to go faster, thats what kick down is for!

I suspect you cant see the appeal of playing computer games or listening to certain types of music either - different people like different things.
