Been plaing Just cause all night then I just swapped it over for Dead Rising (first time I played it) and I get the 3 red rings.

Can't believe It's happened. I honestly thought It wouldn't. Had it since december and it's not skipped a beat.

I've tried all the cable disconnecting and stuff but nothings working. Whenever I press on I just get the red. Will leave it to the morning to see If anything has changed. If not It's going back to argos. Is it ok to keep my HD? I don't fancy losing all my saves.

Anyway, Just thought I'd let you all know. Another one to add to the list.

Edit: Anyone know how I can get the Dead Rising disc out? The eject button is'nt doing anything.

I took mine back to argos the other day(had it since january) and they didn't want to swap it, they say after 30 days it has to go to microsoft to be repaired, they let me call microsoft from the store but i was on hold for ages, eventually they just swapped the 360 :cool:

o and it's not ok to keep your HDD,she checked to make sure it was in the box. i bought a new 1 when i took my 360 back

Your better of sending it back through MS and then you keep the HDD if you need it. I know its £15 but a memory card as a back up really is worth the hassle. At the end of every gaming session I back my game up. Also It gives you an extra save point on some games.

Looking through my ocuk friends list their isn't many people who havent had a replacement. They should give gamerpoints for it. 1000 inconvience points

Had mine since january/feb this year and never had a problem with it cept for the occasional crash on boot.

If you do decide to get TDU - start the save on the mem card straight away DO NOT BACK IT UP - as it corrupts, or so i hear.

My 360 died last night too, I was playing dead rising having fun with the truck in the maintenance tunnels when the graphics corrupted and the system froze. I restarted the console but it wouldn't boot just got the dreaded red rings.

What's the turnaround time for a replacement from microsoft?

The turnaround time is about a week. Just hope your replacement doesn't break within 10 minutes of plugging it like mine did.

I should have my second replacement on Monday.

TBH I'm going to follow this advice and get myself one this weekend. If I was to lose my saves I couldn't bring myself to start those games agai so it would mean a whole new batch of games

How do you back games up? Last time I looked in the dashboard it gave me the option of transferring game saves to the memory card, but not copying

There are non MS approved odds and sods that you can buy that allow you to back up to PC I believe. Google would be the best bet.

Select Memory options, select HDD select Games. Scroll down to the game you want to back up. Hit Y for game options then you can choose copy or move. Choose copy and then it asks you where to. Select Mem card. Done.

Repeat for other games.

Some games like the XBLA are a pain though, it wants to back up all of cloning clyde which fills the mem card. So I didnt bother and then of course I lost my save and haven't played it again since.

Next time I see a cheap card I will buy another for XBLA games. I really would never play a game again that lost me saves. So for a small investment its peace of mind. After all I back up the PC and a mem card is cheaper than a second HDD.

I had a dream last night that my Parents bought me a 360 lol
Argos will replace it mate
As for getting the disc out, I would take it apart tbh and get it out
When my Friends PS2 packed up, he had his Time Crisis 2 disc in there, they send it off to PS and never recieved the game back, but it didn't matter as his Dad owns a Video/DVD/Game shop and he just got him a new one.

UPS picked up my 360 on Tuesday and they still haven't got it to Microsoft yet - I live in Surrey, not exactly that far away from Portsmouth.

I had the three red lights thingy happen once. Managed to recover from it by holding down the wireless connect button then hitting the power. Worked for me, so worth a shot. I haven't had any problems since.

I've got a good idea that it's just the power brick playing up. In standby the light is orange but as soon as I switch the console on it goes red. Would MS just replace that? Or would I have to send the whole lot off?

Would I still be able to send the console back if I had opened it up to get the disc out then?

I cant try your suggestion just yet Doug as I'm away from home atm. I'll have to sort the whole thing out on monday.

I doubt what you did actually solved the problem. It was probably just a one off crash.

you would generally need some proof of purchase. A receipt itself isnt necessary but soemthing proving you did buy it from there and when.

Thanks. Just did a little search and It looks like the catalogue number on the side of the box is enough to send it back.

I'm going to try and borrow my mates PSU to see if thats the problem. If it is, I should be able to get the disc out. If not I'll have to take the thing apart and hope they dont notice. Also gonna ask if I can keep my HD.

360 has packed in.
