Just set downloads up, then turn off the console, it'll switch to a low power state.
 
ah got it working..damn router on the blink.like it :) seems less cluttered.
will have to try the vga cable now, hopefully the colours are better......

They are a LOT better.
 
yep hellish better....
put it on the expanded option and hey presto.. playing vegas in a whole new light :)
this is on a atec av370 tv

I didn't realise that the 360 upscaled DVDs. Is that right or am I getting my wires crossed? Certainly DVD playback is much better through my upscaling Pioneer player.
 
Do the fans still spin when you're charging via play and charge and the console is off?
 
Mine wont update, just get an update failure: 'can't download update' :(

I tried bypassing my router but still no joy. Maybe the servers are busy?

Yes it upscales DVDs but you need to use the VGA lead. I'm pretty sure it won't upscale using the component lead.

Oh right, I guess that's nice but I don't really want to have to buy another cable to do it. Is the DVD playback as noisy as when you are playing a game and the disc is spinning in the drive? If it is I don't think I'll bother.
 
Anyone else think that even if you don't change the VGA settings, the colours/blacks are better?

Make a huge difference to my Acer 1916w, huge since i cannot adjust the colour through the TFT only application controlled.

Maybe the Dell is just too good, well the quality difference between the two displays say it all.
 
Yay, finally got updated. I just kept trying every few minutes, servers are obviously getting hammered.
 
Anyone know if theyve really nobbled the ability to log in to a US addressed live account and access the US marketplace?
