360 Update Tomorrow :O

With the new update, does this mean I can put HD Trailers on a USB drive then upload them to my 360 and watch them in HD on my TV?

Have they updated the packaging on games like Splinter Cell so that it has a new box for 1080p?

didnt think any games were 1080p yet ?

Would have thought it would take the programmers a while to get to grips with 1080p, its a huge increase in pixels over 720p, theres enough issues with framerates as it is on the 360 let alone with higher resolutions

I can't be sure on this, but I think a lot of the frame rate issues of games are more to do with the lazy programming/bugs.

Take for example, Saints Row, which the apparent update helps somewhat, and the full game even when released was far less choppy than the demo (which I almost didn't buy the full game because of).

The same could also be said of Rainbow 6: LV. The demo chopped a little, particularly in confined spaces. Apparently, this has been fixed/eliminated from the final version.

Where do microsoft draw the ideas for these improvements from?
Are these simply responses to direct customer contacts or are they polling customers or is this simply an internal user group or what?

Thats a very good question. I would imagine they would have a good look at the offical Forums though (at least if they were remotely sane) for suggestions. It's literally free concentrated feedback. The only downer is the bunch of trash posts they would have to wade thru.

Im running my 360 thru my Dell 2407 with the VGA cable, and I have selected the new 1920x1080 option... would this mean that all game sI play WILL go to that res? Or will the game need to support this?

Cos I don;t notice any difference in Splinter Cell: DA... but after saying that, would I notice a difference from the prev highest res (whatever that was, as I can't remember 1320x* was it?)

I always thought that the 360 rendered the games at 1280x720. When you select 1920x1080 the 1280x720 resolution was simply upscaled to the new higher one, rather than rendered.

can you ?, is my 360 going to blow up if I try plugging my usb keyboard into it ?,

I thought microsoft said that they would never add keyboard support, why is it in the update list ?

USB keyboards have worked since day 1, you can use them for sending messages and some games allow the use too (Tiger Woods in the lobby, FF and Phantasy Star)
