3770k bootlenecking a GTX 690

I'm in Great Missenden, close to High Wycombe. That's very nice of you, but would like to try a replacement first. My mobo is brand new and it's running perfect. also did a reset CMOS in my bios and the card is still slower then my gtx680. I did a test of my 680 also and it runs great, but the 690 is just not up to the task.

Thanks anyways mate:)

Can you download and install driver 306.23 this is the best driver for a GTX 690.

Then rerun 3dmark11.

Personalyy I'd recommend to check SLI option in nVidia panel, because every time I reinstall drivers, it DISABLES my SLI (if GTX 690 has such option, of course) :==] Otherwise - check maximize efficiency (nVidia settings), and do some tests with Kombustor & Afterburner & Windows resources manager - to see GPU&CPU usage. Enabling SLI usage in nVidia panel would be helpful, too - if it works on 690.

No problem! I know how much of a pain it is to RMA stuff (although ocuk are great with rma). So I thought id give you a last ditch attempt to check out the card one last time!

I hope your new card works!

me too, and if the replacement doesn't work, then I don't know what to do next really? I would have to go for another card, but don't know which one? I'll wait to make that decision after I get new 690? hope all goes well?

Cheers:)

Hmm well I would suggest going the single GPU route with the Titan if it weren't such a damn rip off! Other than that there are the ATI cards. I am stuck with Nvidia as I need CUDA for my AE, premiere etc rendering:(

Do you have adaptive vsync forced via Nvidia Control Panel?

Where would I find that in Nvidia control panel?

I say if the replacement doesn't work, then yes. I might have to go single GPU. Titan loks good, but yeah it's very expensive.

Right click desktop, nvidia control panal, manage 3d settings, global settings, vertical sync (at the bottom of the list).

Thanks mate, found it. No it's on Use the 3D application settings.

It's the card. There was nothing right about it since the day I got it, but thought I would give it a few days and see. I've now see it's the card.

Thanks for your help mate:)

Spoke with returns sent card back this morning. Getting money back/credit note. Returns guy said I should go for a different brand. Im thinking about either EVGA gtx 690 or a Titan? Can't decided? The single GPU chip might be better? What do you guys think?

Only problem I can see for you is that if you got your 690 on TWO last week its going to cost you £40-£50 to get another 690 :(. Id have have asked for a straight swap for another gigabyte instead of a refund :)

I had no issues with SLI till the 310.xx drivers came out. I stayed with the 306.23 till then and moved to the 313.95 with fantastic results.

I would love to know about these SLI issues that I have not seen.
