3800x thread.

I just flashed my MSI x570 Carbon and it works as advertised for boost clocks. I'm getting 4.550on one core, 4,525 on two other cores, and 4.475 on all the others. (This was during a couple hours of Project Cars 2.) Cinebench R20 (multi) and Timespy benches have both gone up slightly. I have not ran CB single core yet.

**Note** the new BIOS doesn't seem to recognize my RAM's XMP profile. (Old BIOS got it right)
I manually entered the XMP values from the old BIOS and it was stable through the benchmarks and my PC2 time.
 
Decided to attempt to overclock the infinity fabric on my 3800x. Bumped the FCLK to 1900Mhz, with my ram clocked to 3800. Increased the ram voltage and tightened the timings. Reported as 1:1 in ryzen master.

Timespy cpu score of 11,025.

I did the same thing, tune the Ram, overclock ram to 3800 and set if 1900. Big gains in time spy. 8-pack ram gives really good tight timing. See signature.
 
ABBA is really great for ST performance but does not affect MT much for me.

Stock core clocks with CPU-z, now I am getting closer to the 4.5GHz all cores overclock for ST performance. 4.5GHz is 551 and ABBA is 548 first run I tried.

Now with ABBA cinebench r15 has increased from ST 209 to 213 but remains at approx. 2250 for MT.

Now with ABBA cinebench r20 has increased from ST 518 to 523 but remains at approx. 5140 for MT.

Ran CPU-z some more and I am boosting 100% to 551 for ST. So I am 100% getting 4.5GHz ST at least sometimes.

9900k scores have real issues, some people get thousand more with 3200 than with the most expensive 4400. Then the same setup from the same person gets 2000 more points and nothing changes.

Im getting roughly the same, however, I back flashed my bios on my MSI ACE to v14, for 2 reasons, the first reason, on V15 with ABBA my FCLK is no longer stable at 1900mhz, the best it will do is 1867mhz, I know its not much of a difference, but that also leads me onto the next part, I need the faster multicore speeds and I can only get that by manually overclocking, on V14 I can do 4.38ghz, on V15 I can only do 4.35ghz, cant live with stock settings only hitting 4.2ghz multithreaded.

I increased DRAM voltage by one notch and the reboot went away. The RAM latency appears to be a little lower as well. I am still stock volts for SoC.

Update: After updating BIOS to ABBA I had to increase SoC from 1.050 to 1.060. Test 6 was failing in memtest86. DRAM voltage is now unchanged. Looks like memory controller, was only failing test 6 on third pass.

Hi @zx128k, out of interest how many watts does your 3800X draw? Mine has all the performance but never draws more than 60W in HWinfo. Even stress testing/benching it wont draw more. Deffo not got Eco mode on in Ryzen or BIOS. I even switched it on in the BIOS to check that the BIOS wasn't just labelled back to front. Be interested to know, thank in advance

Always seems to be close too 60-105 watts, with PBO its 120 watts.

How come you score that high sc in cb20? Max I have seen in my system was 529 I think she 5030 mc
The ABBA means you boost to 4.5GHz single core at stock. The multi thread is PBO at motherboard, +200MHz and scale at 10x. This is not what I am running 24/7. It's more 551 ST and 5830 MT.
 
8 pack 3600 overclocked to 3800 and with very tight timings. Voltage is below 1.4 volts and SoC is 1.070 volts.
I have 3200c14 oced to 3800c16-15-15-28-42-282 y tight sub timings but I cant get more than 529 and 5700-5800 1.45v 1000 975 vdimm

You need to have ABBA BIOS installed, good motherboard and cooling helps.
 
Yeah I have ABBA even the new beta bids f7c
With an AIO Corsair h150i pro

Idle temperstures of 30-45 and max in cb20 of 85 degrees with full pbo on and LLC turbo for both soc and cpu

Why LLC turbo? Also 85 degrees in cb20 could be lowered if you reduce LLC if possible.
