Damn that is a beautiful build! Really like the look of that!

Also thank you for posting those results! Look forward to seeing some scores after tweaking settings and possible OC as well

Got all my parts here and ready now, going to be tearing my current rig down and building the new one tomorrow. 3800X here we come, excited for this now. I'll post a pic when it's done.

Well it's finished'ish, but not the smoothest of builds. The hardware went in fine but it took three attempts to install Windows on the NVMe drive without it getting stuck. Then a couple of attempts to get my RAM to run its XMP profile without throwing a fit. It seems stable enough at the moment, no crashes so far. Although I am seeing some WHEA errors, all corrected so far. It's boosting intermittently to 4.4Ghz at the moment, no higher, so there's some tweaking to be done there. In games it sitting between 3.5Ghz and bouncing up to 4.4, usually with several cores in sleep mode. The titles I've tried so far aren't that demanding.

I only benched one game on my 4770k \ 1080Ti before starting the new build, that was Company of Heroes 2. Interesting results.

4770K
Min 35.02
Max 75.32
Ave 49.18

3800X
Min 54.67
Max 96.52
Ave 80.65

I wasn't expecting that much of an increase, it seems to show in a limited way that my 4770K was holding my 1080Ti back more than I thought. And the couple of different games that I've played so far have been much smoother than they were. I'll spend the next couple of days tweaking and testing, but so far I'm enjoying it.

That is a decent increase Wucked! What resolution was that benchmark at?
Got mine turning up tomorrow coming from 3770k but I game at 4k and after reading the when does a CPU hold back at 4k thread I'm not expecting a massive jump but I shall do some benches today before I strip down tomorrow to see. No NVME drive for me yet though. I'll wait for the sales.

That's at 3440x1440 with the 4770k OC'd to 4.5

Oh really! Even with that high resolution (5M pixels) there was that much of a jump in performance and smoothness. I guess CoH2 also requires quite a lot of CPU due to the nature of it being an RTS game?

I'm not sure, I don't think it's that demanding tbh. Not like other RTS titles such as Ashes of the Singularity, or Supreme Commander. Very promising though.

Random useful bit.
In my case, on a Aorus Ultra X570. Was on the agesa 1003ab built bios (F4f in my case). Had max boost around 4.4ghz (with PBO off).
Installed 1003 plain (F3) and now happily hitting 4.5, still haven't turned PBO on (though considering giving that a crack tbh).

PUBG went from being a 20 minutes to crash infested cluster**** to being absolutely solid too.

That's interesting. I have the Aorus Pro on F4f. It's been well behaved so far, but I may roll back the BIOS to see what happens. From what I've read PBO is hardly worth it, not played with it myself yet though.

I don't have it on and the CPU works flawlessly, cores reach 4.525Mhz with everything set on Auto.

I went for the 3700x rather then the 3800x for two reasons. 1. Price . Being close to £400 meant I probably should just get a 9900k instead considering they dropped in price. 2. The earlier indicator is that the 3700x and 3800x are about 3-5% apart plus Gamers Nexus review of the 3800x.

Hope I don't regret it as I had the money for the upgrade and almost bought the 3800x twice before finally going 3700x.
