3930k COOLING LOOP

Just take the res cap off and rock the case with it turned on.
The bubbles went for me after 10 minutes.
I feel stupid on my build getting the tubing wrong have to retube and refill the whole thing again next :(

No ones perfect,atleast i was only doing a CPU loop and its stamped on the front in so i couldn't get mine the wrong way round.
Got all the bubbles out the loop,its just a few mini bubbles(like froth)
in the res.:(

Anyway you'll have yours sorted soon enough.;)
Went to a gaming day near me today,got 4 free games.

Nvidia,Evga amongst others were there and got somme nice snippets of info.
Looks like no big Kepler for gamers Tesla only,maybe a revised 680 in the pipeline but he wouldn't/couldn't elaborate further.

Evga is finding out if blocks are coming out for my cards so with a bit of luck more money to find:D
 
Looks nice

I like the braided corsair cables (they should look even better when you get your cards on water and you can see more of the mobo).

What sort of temps are you getting with prime95 and what cpu clock ?
 
Just had a good look through, that looks the buisness whyscotty clean fresh that case is growing on me too ..... noooo must resist ..... look forward to watching your progress with the gpus nice one!

The case does look better in the flesh so to say,
its been long and slow process to be honest.

Tried a few different sets of cards b4 i settled on these,
just glad the blocks are finally being made.

You should never resist.... :D

As and when the blocks appear I'll try to do a better log,
 
Good build log Scotty and interesting to see a fellow water cool noob doing well :p Let us know how you get on with the 680 blocks bud :) The MSI Lightning blocks should be released end of this month :)
 
Time to add the Gpu blocks, for those eagle eyed amongst you.

So I will be requiring more bits and bobs to install these beautys.

The question is -

1 - Do I use more EK connectors or are there better made/looking ones ?

2 - Also is there any benefit in cooling the mobo ?

Those blocks look amazin, not too keen on the backplates though =(
Cooling the mobo would be more of an aesthetic thing i guess, unless that little fan on the R4E is doing your nut in?
 
Cooling the mobo vrms can be beneficial especially on x79 :)

As for what connectors etc... to use, have you seen the new ek range of fittings?

Not really had chance as yet, will have a look now.
Does using 90 degree rotarys have much effect on flow ?

Mobo cooling, prob is the only cooling I can get is the EK one
and thats pig ugly. Then again once everything is fitted you
won't see much of it.

If i swap to 1/2 inch tubing will it effect the temps ?(if at all)
As it will look a little cramped around the CPU

I'll be adding either 2 x 120 or a 240 monster rad to the loop
for the Gpu's/mobo, I take it that will be enough?
 
They will effect flow..minimal, nothing the D5 has any problems with even on low settings, you would need to add a huge amount of those fittings to start causing problems.

Have you looked into crystal link for your mobo? The temp difference again would be so minute its not worth worrying about. A 240 would be sufficient to cool the 7970s.

An extra 240 will be perfect :)

Tubing sizes don't really matter tbh, most like the thick wall 1/2 id tubing to avoid as much kinking as possible.

Don't worry about angle fittings killing flow, it won't happen with a d5 ;) have an angle fitting on almost every component in my loops and have had no issues.

Fairly sure more than ek make rive blocks, I'll have a look :)
