3d Mark 06 scores thread

Just got my Score 2894

is this a good score for the following spec ?

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS 512 MB
Microsoft Windows XP
2 Gig DDR 400 Pc 3200 Ocz Plantinum memory

Abit AN8-SLI
2x512MB Gainward BLISS GLH 7800GT's @ 500/1400

3438 - SM3.0
1860 - CPU Score

That puts me a nice 11th in the Dual-Core and Dual/Single-Core tables :cool:

Looking for a new mobo as Asrock mobo letting my cpu clock down but can't grumble for a ceap board.... but my chip does 3GHZ easy so with an extra 120mhz or so should get me a few xtra points

I did - but I think it defaulted to 1024 because my monitor needs upgrading.... d'oh.

Hmm just downloaded 3dmark06 and when i double click it to self extract it asks for a password :confused:

When i click ok ignoring the password it then tells me it's not a supported archive. Anyone know why the free version would be asking me for a password?

Where have you downloaded it from? it should be an installer exe not an archive. Its not passworded. Try the guru3d mirror.

Go to where you downloaded it from and they'll post the password there

They do it to stop people hotlinking to the download

Can't believe i missed that, although dont remember having to do that with '05. I must be getting lax

I take it that i wont get a full score result with this version without paying for it? i seem to remember there being a difference in score between those that paid and those that didnt when it was released.

NOPE, you will get a puka score but you won't be able to 'fiddle' with the settings!

I don't know quite what that means, there's nothing special you can do with the paid version that will result in a higher score. You don't have any flexibility to, say, just run a particular feature test, but not many people want that, the benchmark and score is identical between free and paid versions.

i thought this, the password is on the page just before you download it. (if its guru 3d u got it from)

All 3d marks tested. (some are a little higher i think now)

I have a powercolor XT also, is yours with default cooler? Those gpu volts are high ive been scared to go over 1.45 and my core wont budge over 686.

put my dal core in today, got more fiddling to do yet though, its all on air aswell, and using ccc overdrive

right well that puts me second on list for dual core and my previous score on single core is top, just gotta catch dual core top score and im laughing
