3d Mark 06 scores thread

3d6 = 6751 with the gear in my sig which seems strange to me. As you have the slightly better chip. Maybe the xt rather pro gfx is the reason?

As a general question, how much of a difference would a gts 320 make to me? I assume I'd get scores around the 9-10k in 3d6, but is that something that is noticeable in games? Also, would it be wasted on my 1280x1024 19" tft?

Cheers
Alex

The XT is better then the Pro so yeah your card is slightly better then mine, and mine is also not working properly, just to lazy to send it back hehe.
The 8800GTS will make a huge difference in terms of 3DMark06 performance, especially as you have a decent clock aswell.
At that resolution the X1950XT should be fine to run anything you throw at it.

Sorry to be a bit of a n00b, and sorry if ive missed this answer already

Just built my first PROPER gaming rig and have got 3dmark06 to have a go with

When you guys run the benchmark do you leave all of the settings within 3dmark at DEFAULT?

Id like to submit my results when i have them but not sure on how youve made the test consistent
I think that unless you buy it you have no choice with the settings

Scored 8061 with the core@550 mem@845. Didn't want to take it much further as I've only recently got the card so i'm still checking it out. One thing tho'. Games such as F.E.A.R. and Supreme Commander play great even with graphic options maxed out but Far Cry and Halo 1 hate it... I'm assuming its a driver issue and will be sorted eventually, does anyone else have the same probs? My rig has been through the mill with Prime95 and Memtest so I know thats cool. My temps are fine, drivers are 158.22 with the latest (April) Dx update. Any advise much appreciated

And I thought it was just me. I have an EVGA 8800 GTS 320 Superclocked, and can max out CS:S, F.E.A.R, BF2142 no problem, but Farcry runs like an absolute dog. I was thinking driver issue aswell. The fact that Ive read many 8800 owners on these boards switched back out to 1900XTs until a decent driver comes out for the 8800s lends a bit of weight to the theory.

Oh, and 10202 is my best 06 score so far :) E6300 @ 2.688 ( Ambient temps be damned ), budget RAM ( struggling student ), and the aforementioned 8800. All on a GA-965P DS3 Rev 1.0. Was a 3.3, but an RMA due to an issue left me with a 1.0 instead

Nice one (I think) thanks for the reply I thought I was going mad. I posted the same Q in Nvidia's forums and am still waiting on a reply.

Everything is stock, and ive only got a slow ass xfx gts as well.

:o

lol, are you indeed?

Try 9600 in 06 with AM2 X2 3800 (65w) @ 2.7ghz with ASUS EN8800GTS @ 630/2012mhz.

I'm waiting for new WC pump so I can push this CPU higher.....air sux ;)

VISTA users can now OC their NVIDIA cards using 158.19 WHQL for VISTA x86/x64......rivatuner also supports this driver.

Happy benching :)

Sounds a little low, to be honest. I would have expected closer to 12k on that system, although it's certainly not miles away.

What driver set are you using?

I get almost the same

My CPU is clocked slightly less though @ 3.0 GHz

Dell 9200, no cpu/mem clocking available, default 6600 cpu, Leadtek 8800GTS 640mb @ 650/1000 (is this good? More leeway?)

Quite happy with that so far, the card seems to be pretty nice, its a shame i cant clock the actual CPU to get me over 10k.

Abit AW9D-MAX
E6600 @ 3.5Ghz
2GB DDR2 OCZ Plat @ 872 - 4-4-4-12
BFG OC2 8800GTS 640mb @ 635/1900
Windows Xp Pro Modded
Latest Nvidia Drivers

3DMark06 Score: 11071

Im happy with the system, just wanted to break the 11,000 barrier really.

All components (including GPUs) are different. The only way to tell if you have more leeway is to push the card further. When you go a little too far, you will start to see artifacts (ie. visual anaomolies like random white pixels or triangluar flashes) during the 3dmark run. If currently you're not getting any artifacts, then feel free to push the clocks higher :) Once you start getting artifacting, drop the clocks back down to a stable level. I suggest, though, that you increase the memory and core clock seperately when testing, or you will never be 100% sure which is the cause of the problem.
