Bit quick n' dirty, the supports underneath were an absolute nightmare so he's also lost a few teeth :D

Bought my geeetech alkaid for like £90 quid shipped last year and never touched it. Now I have a garage I thought I'd give it a go and it took forever to get it to print right. Can't seem to print the Cones of Calibration V3 right but I thought I'd give a bust of Spider-man a go and I'm very pleased after one failed attempt. Already tempted to upgrade and learn to make my own.

I'm very pleased. In my weird warped logic if I print 3 or 4 more things this printer has pretty much paid for itself . Only thing I'm wondering is can I actually paint these things.

Everything is way smaller than I want but it's coming out. Absolutely no chance I can paint this thing as it's barely bigger than those Warhammer 40k miniature things but it looks great for an £80 quid printer. Just wondering if I can justify buying a 10 inch resin printer

My missus started down the me "wasting" money on stuff thread when I got the Kobra S1, I asked her, "are all the bills paid?"....

Oddly, given she had booked 5 days in Lanzagrote with her friends, and is away again this weekend for a long weekend, she went quiet pretty quickly...

You are an adult, you can do what you want with your own money....

That help?
True but I always feel terrible when I spend a lotta money on stuff that isn't really useful. For instance I've been trying to find useful things to print for a while now just so I can convince myself this is a good use of my time and money. I need to print something like this then I can comfortably buy whatever I can afford

Decided to have a go at really maxing out what I can print on this small thing. So far so good, not many failures but my god this is going to take forever. I still can't quite get my head around islands, it seems to be that if I ignore them i don't have a problem which doesn't make much sense to me. Anyway quite tempted to get something cheap like the Sovol SV06 for less detailed parts like the base.

Now I've got my Kobra S1, I've been doing larger longer prints, danmed tempting to run off some old GW style stuff from my youth...
