3rd hard drive connection?

I have 2 hdd's a C and D drive connected to the sata ports on mobo.
If I want to connect a 3rd hdd where do I connect it to.(not the raid ports I guess)I dont have a raid running I just want extra storage.Cheers.

Which board are you using? You should be able to connect the drive to the next available port.

Yeah, it should be as simple as connecting the drive up to the next available port. You using the red ones or the black ones at the moment?

Not at the machine at the moment,but black as I remember.

OK, the black ones are the JMicron controller, the red ones are the four for the Intel controller. Just plug the drive in one of the red ones, it should work fine.

Just remember you'll need to partition and format the new drive in Disk Management before it'll be accessible.
