4.8ghz on 3770k

I'm currently running a stability test in aida64 on CPU and gpu. 10 mins into test with the following settings..

4.8ghz
fixed voltage 1.350 (1.36 under load)
CPU pll over voltage enabled
CPU pll voltage 1.5
dram voltage 1.5
CPU response ultra fast
CPU current capability 140%
LLC auto

highest core temp 87, 85, 77, 82

updated to latest bios 1805

I'm going to try and lower voltage to see if it stays stable.

What you think 8 pack?

Chris

4.8ghz worked under a full load in aida64 but when i ran battlefield 3, the game crashed during loading...
Its the usual way i can tell if an overclock works.

I think the temps were a little too high but im sure there is something I can do to reduce them.

I read somewhere that CPU PLL voltage helps reduce temps. Is this true? if so, how?

Chris

Sounds good.

I suppose 75 degrees is good for 4.7ghz. The problem is, when I start to use blk for clocking, I often get a crash because of my firewire audio device is connected to a pci slot which for some reason it dosesnt like its bus overclocked.
the quest continues lol

Temps are getting quite high now, 90s across the board as I had to increase the voltage so i'm currently testing 1.384v Prime load.

Really want to de-lid but can't afford to break the chip!

update crashed :(

Trying 4.8GHz now as don't want to increase the voltage any more with those temps at load.

Id love to move to a custom water but I dont have the balls lol
Im on an Antec Kuhler 920 and get decent enough temps but could be better!
I also have a 670 and would like some better cooling for that.
Does the 670 like its bus overclocked?

Chris

Seems to be alright!

Putting the 670 under water was the best thing I did, pure silence compared to the jet engine that was fitted to it before. Card used to hit 70 degrees on load compared to just 40 now. Thats also with a slight increase in voltage and 1280/6808 clocks. Back plate also keeps the rear memory chips cooler and VRMs are cooled by the block too.

hardest part is working out how things will fit and what tubing route to take. Actually having a water cooled PC is very easy and block fitting is easy too, it's just trying to picture in your head the size of things like radiators and where they will mount, etc.

Now this is what Im taking about!
if i could get a small air con unit and funnel the cold air to the fans that intake air through the radiator, id see some serious results. he has 8Degrees on a p4 @ 4.1ghz with a stock cooler lol

its strange that nobody had thought of making a tiny air conditioner small enough for pc use.
