4080s in stock on nvidia site

Shows in stock for me and the VRAM is 16GB. What a joke of a launch, totally laughable that this "mainstream" GPU is in stock everywhere you look.

A big **** you to Nvidia but they will not take notice.

I'm so happy this has bitten them in the face. The people paying over the odds for the GPU's were clearly the miners so with the market down they have priced it well above what their regular market would pay. Good to see people voting with their wallets.

I'm hoping they have shareholder panic and are forced to drop prices. Also hoping AMD take notice on the overpriced 7900 XTX and XT

Arghh, I ordered one as soon as they dropped this afternoon. I had been waiting for the 4080 as part of my move to 4K and planned to offset some of the cost by selling my 3080 FE. Now wondering if I should refuse delivery or RMA it, especially if there is a chance that prices will drop. Returning or refusing delivery would prob. preclude me from buying another 4xxx FE though? Not a major issue as I would be happy with a good AIB. Like many I waited for months and months to get my 3080 FE at RRP and didn't want to be in the same situation again. Realistically though, how much margin for price reduction is there? Anyway, it won't arrive until Mon so I have the weekend to sleep on it.

TBH it is not really the price drops that bother me. I live by my decisions.

It's the fact that it will be superseded within about 3 months once AMD launch. With a Ti, that will cost the same, and be much beefier.

I had a Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 NITRO+ (£750 from OCUK in Jan '21) for a few months until I was able to get my 3080 FE from the official distributor in June.. and that was sheer luck with it then going unavailable again within minutes. I actually sold the RX 6800 for what I paid for it too. It was an excellent GPU and my first AMD card since the Radeon HD 5870!! It will be interesting to see what RDNA 3 brings to the table.

My main reason for wanting the RX 4080 is for DLSS 3 which my favourite game, MS Flight Simulator now fully supports. Not sure how FSR compares and if MS Flight Sim supports it.

Anyhow, that's a good point about a possible Ti and it would be a bit of a kick in the teeth if it's released at the same MSRP as the non-Ti which in turn drops in price.

Maybe I should just return it or refuse it at the door on Monday.
