That's an interesting upgrade path, I'm considering a Samsung Odyssey but not sure of the amount of curve. My Dell's curve is only 2300R so not too sure about the more aggressive curve on some of the newer monitors.
Yeah, it's fair to say going from the G9 to the LG C2 was arguably more of a sidegrade than a true upgrade. I was never certain about the 1000R curve of the G9 but now I've switched to the flat C2, I realise that the G9's curve, at least for me, really did add to the immersion.

Dell 27" 1440p 165hz ips monitor here. If I have the performance to spare I use DSR and run at 4k. But that depends how demanding the title is, as I like to run at high fps.

Valve Index and LG C2 OLED (which turns up Tuesday) As the 4090 is used in my racing sim.

Really looking forward to reading your thoughts about the C2 as I have complete ‘analysis paralysis’ about monitors at the moment.

I have a Dell U3223QE and a Lenovo Y27q-20, and I’ve used both with my 4090 FE. The Dell looks great, and the pixel density for productivity is a billion times better than the Lenovo, but sucks for games due to being 60Hz and no VRR.

The Lenovo is great for games (G-Sync is one of the best inventions, ever), but it feels like a toy compared with the 32” because it’s too small for work.

Ideally I’d replace them both with a 32” 4K 144Hz+ but it feels like a waste not to get one with HDR, and they don’t really exist yet. I could swap the Lenovo for an LG C2 but that means having 2 desks in my office which feels lien a waste of space.

That’s my tale of woe :p

Been using the Asus PG43UQ 4K 144hz (VA panel) for about 2yrs now as my main monitor and it's been great. Love the connectivity and it works great for watching films with a 4K Apple TV a connected and I have an Xbox Series X plugged in as well and can quickly switch with the included remote control, HDR is really nice on this panel.

Have a far cheaper Samsung 32" U32J59 4K 60HZ monitor that I use as a second screen and for the price it's not a bad screen at all.

Do have my eye on the Asus PG42UQ OLED when I do decide to upgrade.

That asus oled has got me interested now too!

Samsung CHG90, but VR (sim racing / HP Reverb G1) is the reason I got a 4090.

Were it not for VR, I would probably just run a 3080 or 6800XT.

Hardware Unboxed have very in depth monitor reviews. They liked both the LG and Asus OLEDs.

I went with the LG C2 as it had everything I wanted in a monitor at around €1000. It has HDR, G-sync, 4K. If you set a frame rate limit to 100Fps in the Nvidia Control Panel and disable V-sync with G-sync enabled then you get no screen tearing and low latency crisp images all the time. You also have to enable HDR in Windows. I also use HGIG Dynamic tone mapping and Game mode in the LG settings.

I disabled the Eco mode and pixel shift functions and am simply careful to move my Windows taskbar around to each edge of the screen every hour if I am in Windows (you can also auto-hide it but I find this easier personally. Another advantage is that the regular windowed apps then do not have their top bars always in the same place on the screen as the Taskbar pushes them around a bit).

Overall I am very happy with it. Feels like a massive upgrade over other monitors and looks even richer than my Pioneer Kuro which is still in my lounge.

Pictures of my desk can be found in my signature. A slightly deeper desk would be a bit better for work use but I have a lap board for my keyboard and mouse so I can sit as near or as far as I like.

There are also many more OLED monitors coming this year so now you just have to choose between jumping in now or waiting forever for something better

Dell UltraSharp UP3218K 32" 8K

Been using this monitor since I had a 2080ti, and given that 8K is quite important to me from a productivity standpoint, I doubt I’ll be changing any time soon.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the new breed of 8K gaming monitors brings whenever they finally come around, but it could be quite some time yet.

My primary technically not a monitor but better in my opinion is my 55" LG CX Oled @ 4K 120HZ with Xbox controller and I use with the 4090 FE and it's glorious. Also own a LG ultragear 32GK650F monitor for system number 2 but that's driving a 5700XT. Just can't beat the CX though.
