4930k RIVE 2133mhz RAM

There is some progress:

CR 1 results in system instability

5-124-7936-12-7-26-6-6-8 appears to work fine.

However dropping tWCL to 7 instantly reboots my system. I haven't tried changing this in the bios yet, I'm just running a test on the other values.

EDIT: tWCL 7 in bios is also stable...

It actually looks like I might be able to pull my primary's down as well

9-10-9-26-2 appears to be stable...

Going to try 8-10-9-26-2 from bios shortly. - Stable... Will post once PI has finished.

Dropped a few more of the timings:

Where should I go from here?

Those are some pretty good results but given those you'd "probably" get better overall performance shooting for CL9/1T/tighter tRAS but I could be wrong, getting those kind of results out of a 32GB kit ain't easy.

I can't get CR1 even at CL 10...

First set of PI causes Error in round

8x4GB does seem pretty tough to tune!!

I have managed to drop the DRAM Refresh to 7280

and it's still stable running PI, will trial this with light gaming through the evening.

(primaries are 8-9-9-23-2)
(Seconds 5-124-7280-12-7-26-6-6-7)

EDIT: had a couple of crashes, but they seem to be vcore related. So I upped it to 1.34 from 1.325 to see if it resolves.

Looking very good so far for 4 sticks, excellent job :D

Sure i read somewhere that dram refresh is the only setting that works the opposite way round, higher = better?? Can someone comment on this??

No problem...

I'm pretty pleased where I'm at right now!

A little more work and I think I'm there.

Just slightly disappointed that I can't hit 4.63ghz it'll only do 35x

Timings are now:

DRAM REF Cycle time of 74 crashes the system.

Suprised you can even get the tRFC below 100 with 32GB and at those speeds - usually hit a wall at ~109 with 8-9-9- @ 2133MHz. (If its crashing the system at 74 I suspect you will need to back it off to between 90 and 100+ to pass a couple of loops of memtest).

I was a little surprised when it just went down and down and down!!

I'll just do some light gaming again, and try benching it a little later if there are no crashes.

Put tCKE back to Auto and pushed tFAW down to 22 & tRW to 9 it's held up against everything, gaming, 3 runs through of CineBench, 3d Mark 2011, and several runs over Unigine Heaven 4.0 to get my graphics stable.

Is there anything else I can do this??

Excellent stuff.

Could also try getting your top 4 3rd's down to 0, currently yours are 0,2,3,3
