4K gaming possible at full settings on todays hardware?

Ahhh many thanks for the Bioshock infinite bench. 102 averages for max settings isn't bad at 4k :D

I would say 34fps is considered playable on bioshock, where its not quite the same kind of aim and shoot title as other FPS'

It's me having a special moment meant TR (tomb raider) not sure where the 3 came from :o

Haha, no problem and with testing BF4 at both 1080P and 4K, there is no going back to 1080P in this game. It just looks so much better at 4K. There might be an upscaling option but all my monitor options are in Korean and no idea how to get them in English :D

The big problem is the grunt needed. You could easily get playable frame rates with a pait of 7950's and would just need to drop settings. There is so much screen real estate on a 28" screen, with the game flowing, you would be hard pushed to see the difference.

How much smaller is text on a 4k screen compared to my QHD screen ? i think text would be too small for me:(

Do you have Assetto Corsa Greg you can test ?:p

There is no issues with web sites, as all you need to do is press and hold CTRL and scroll your mouse wheel to make test bigger but I had to manually alter the font size for Steam, as when people chat to me, I proper struggle to see what they were saying. Easy now I have the text size changed though.

I have Assetto Corsa (The reason I bought a steering wheel) and will do some screens for ya. The game looks stunning in the quick play I have had and will get some screens up tomorrow. I used downsampling on a 1080P screen to close to 4K res but it isn't a patch on 4K on a 4K screen. Gorgeous game and looking forward to doing some screens.

You're welcome and I was surprised at how high the frames were, as I thought it was more demanding. I have only run the in-game bench and not tried the game but I don't see any problem with those frames, except if it suddenly drops from 100 to 30 for instance.

1440P to 4K is worth it Boom. The price alone was my sway but comparing to an IPS, the IQ is excellent and has the added benefit of 1ms, which makes everything nice and responsive. No lag felt and no tearing (as of yet).

I think Maxwell and 4k will be more desireable as keplar technology is slightly low on the core clock and also the amount stream processors for 4k to give some blistering pace. 40fps at 4k would be like a slideshow, that is unless you spend a lot of money on a 3rd and 4th GPU to keep the speed up. However today thats expensive and slightly underpowered i think unless you go extreme which most people do not do.

Does this monitor come with a Display Port cable Gregster?

I have to ask, obviously 4k is amazing but would fps games seem better / more responsive with 144hz.

I would love that monitor Greg but 1 780 might be a bit lacking grunt wise.

So a choice of 4k or 1080p or 1440p and 144hz which would you choose?

Interested to see BF4 single card - without and without MSAA but on ultra detail :-)

If it can hit 60fps or thereabouts average you sold another one Greg ;-)

Hope you are getting commission.

Need more gpus! Want this so bad.

Any chance Rome2 total war could get a look in? I mostly play RTS and EvE online so this would be a sick purchase.

BF4 and ArmA3 would be a killer though.

Any chance of trying ArmA3?

There is no way you had 101 frames per second in Battlefield 4 Ultra and with 4k textures enabled, try setting the resolution scale to 200% (4k) and show us several in-game screenshots?.

Have you tried overclocking the display ? ie 80hz 96hz ?

lower the setttings on the games and see if you could get the bandwidth limit on display port lol.

Just out of interest greg, if you did 4k down/up-scaled results before you got the new screen, could you compare results with new genuine 4K results to see how accurate the down/up-scaled results were? Especially with memory usage in mind, just so we can see if all the down/upscaled results actually mean anything.
cheers.
