5 a day

Innocent smoothy is actually bad for you so I heard.

Hmm, it's just fruit so I can't see how. I know they supposedly aren't quite as good for you as eating the fruit. The strawberries and bananas one used to say it would provide you daily intake of fruit and now it only says 2 portions, so maybe you have to drink more smoothy than you would eat fruit to get the same benefit.

I'm usually pretty good and get 3 or 4, but on 1 or 2 atm cos we've run out of food pretty much. Damn student living, really need to do a shop :p

At a guess, you probably just get a little less fibre in the smoothie as opposed to whole fresh fruits.

Hmm don't think so. the fruit goes in whole and gets blitzed in a blender. Same thing that happens when you chew/ digest basically

God knows then, I can't see why there would be a huge difference between them seeing as the Innocent brand is "pure" (i.e no additives or any other rubbish).

i eat loads of fruit, gave up eating crisps and chocolate a few months back and havent missed it. probably get through 2-4 a day, although im not too keen on veg i have to force feed my self.

This is part of the problem with the "5 a day" guideline, it is kind of misleading. It is not good if you get most/all of your 5 from fruit since it is quite high in sugar. I aim for 2 pieces of fruit and at least 4 portions of veg and some salad in a day and this is what I usually eat unless I run out and can't be arsed to go to the shop.

Still a hell of a lot better than chocolate though. It's the type of sugar as well as the amount.

I'm eating 5 bits of fruit a day at the moment. It's doing horrors to my insides, wind city and yesterday i savagely blocked the toilet :/

After reading all these responses, I might add that i'm not a fat git, and don't eat pre-made packaged food. however, trying to cram in fruit instead of chocolate and crisps, and bacon etc is hard

why cant it be 5 different types of chocolate a day :( i can do that one

i dont even get 5 a week let alone 5 a day :p

^i am a skinny buga, even nicknamed "slim" because of it

Usually get 5 aday.

can of peach slices in fruit juice for breakfast (at work)
Can of pineapple rings in fruit juice and tomatoes and/or cucumber in sandwiches for lunch
Then home cooked dinner usually between 2-5 veg in it for tea.

I don't drink, I don't smoke so I eat what I want. No big brother government is going to dictate to me what I put into my body.

If I want to have steak and chips with the steak fat poured over chips I will. The same goes for if I want to have salad in pita bread I will. What I eat is up to me and not some nosey PC government department.

even without the cider i reckon i could easily eat 5 piece of fruit a day

fruit is just hassle to be honest though

it goes "off" quick yet is expensive to buy when you get small amounts of it :( no worky for me so i end up deciding between a mouldy apple or a pasty from shop :(

i love fruit though

Fair enough I just don't think people who choose to eat bad diets should be entitled to NHS healthcare (Along with those who smoke and drink excessively).

In fact if I had my way there wouldn't be an NHS and you'd pay for your own damn healthcare like in America... I'm sick of using my hard earned to support drug addicts, chain smokers, alcoholics, daredevils, and people who don't look after themselves.
