Same thing is going to happen again. Considering the 5080 will be out for at least two years or a little more, then the lack of VRAM is going to be an issue again. If it had 20GB, then it would have been fine.Something like that. But don't forget all that extra vram which turned out to be very important.
Man the 3090ti is actually a brutal card.
I honestly think a lot of posters here would spend like 800 bucks more on 10% performance as long as it was the top dog of the stack
The 2080ti was so underwhelming too but at least it had a couple years of bragging I think?
I expect the 5080 to out-perform the 4090 in most games.
Just nope, it won't even be close.

You don’t think the 5080 will offer 30% more performance than the 4080? I’d be surprised.
Depends on clock speed, the shader uplift for the 5080 seems very similar between the 3080>4080 but the 4080 had a 50% clock speed increase which would mean the 5080 needs to clock in at 3.7ghz to give it a similar +50% performance increase. You don’t think the 5080 will offer 30% more performance than the 4080? You said 4090 though![]()

I think 25-30% is doable with a 3.2ghz clock though although no doubt Nvidia will be pushing some AI tech like FG to obscure the actual numbers.
