55" TV - LED or OLED

I think you made the right choice. I've been going over and over in my head I should have gone OLED. It's literally driving me mad and very distracting. The box for the KS8000 is in the kitchen and if I can be bothered I'm going to box it up and exchange for the LG.

Don't get me wrong. The PQ really is very good and people are definitely understating it on here. Sky HD upscales nicely and output from the PS4 Pro looks amazing. And that's before going anywhere near calibration. The setup is still out-of-the-box.

However, I can't go on thinking I've got something 2nd rate (I blame purplesky for his poor man's OLED comment you bugger! :p).

Thing is, I've blown over £700 on AV equipment on top of the TV. Not sure what the Mrs is going to think about that.

Happy New year guys. :)

Domo, was in a similar boat to you, and had I read the thread earlier I'd have commented. If you can still do it, return it.

With the LG you get HDR as well as Dolby Vision. DV looks stunning on Marco Polo on Netflix, and I imagine other shows have it implemented too. I watched interstellar on it.. it is surreal and stunning. You can see each one of the individual stars light up without the Halo effect. I had a FLAD LED LCD before this, and you could always see that halo issue arise. I have been sat on my back side during the holidays to try and find fault with this TV..

There isn't one I can find yet (I got the 55" E6). The picture is one of the finest I have ever seen, and has gone onto convince me of why I bought it over other sets. Its shockingly good for gaming too. I got a PS4 Pro and am loving the HDR on Uncharted. On Gaming HDR mode the lag isn't too bad.

If you can make a way to get the OLED do so, since it comes with a 6yr warranty you aren't going to be out of pocket either..
