5770 crossfire performance

im looking to crossfire mine as well, how would it perform on a 975x board?

975X is 2 x 8X 1.1 slots.

So it'd be equiv of a P45 running 2 x 4X 2.0 slots.

As such, you'd lose about 5% performance per card.

Then your doing something wrong. Check any review ont he board and it says can be run at 8x 8x. Maybe its an updated Bios issue?

Im not sure were the settings are altered myself but i no people with the board and they can run it at 8x 8x without a problem

1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (single at x16)
1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (@x4 mode, 2.5GT/s)
2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 (2.5GT/s)
3 x PCI

LOL Id edited my post obviously at the same time as youd typed. Yeah i found that on asus but seems to be a difference of opinions all over the web. As i edited even at 16x 4x the drop in performance on the second card is only 5% so really only lost a few fps.

Anyways ill get out of this topic now :P

What? U refereing to an other of my posts? Yeah im intending to crossfire 5770s? Dont really see your point here?

I have a 4870 1gb, but considering getting a 5770 now, and then one in the future, but I also only have a p755d so assume cf would be rubbish, but if its only a small drop then I dunno!

oh LOL thought you were refereing to one of my posts :) LOL Yeah i got a I5 bundle last week when it was on offer which was the P755D, got one 5770 was going to get an other one after christmas.....i had originaly thought it was 8x 8x as some reviews said. But if you scroll up someone linked a performance chart showing % drop at 16x 8x 4x 1x lanes. So im still probably going to get a second 5770 come christmas or january...Ill let you no how it goes LOL
