*** 5800 Series Update ***

Yeah been waiting on a system with 2 5870's in for 3 weeks now. Apparently the cards that were marked to go in mine this week (so it could be shipped on 18th) got sold to someone else... great

Now I'm back on this waiting list...I may just cancel it now tbh

Maaaaatteeee, cancel that and get a system with a single 5970 card in it, should be cheaper than the 2x 5870 and faster to boot :)

I have confirmation of a large volume of Sapphire 5850 leaving Hong kong today they will cover all back orders with plenty to spare. Realistically they will be here on Monday.

No news on anything 5870 I am afraid.

That is great news. I am about to make my order this weekend, and I am planning on ordering the Sapphire. Will I definitely have my order sent Monday or Tuesday? :) Thanks in advance!

i do agree with above..

i said this on page 3 "OC takes your money straight away, so your more in your right to complain or whatever. if they didn't take the money then i think people wouldn't be getting mad or complaining ... "

One advantage of that though, is you paid for the old price - the 5850 has gone up £40-60 since I got mine, don't know about the 5870.

i know the 5970 is underclocked but its easy to clock it back up to the 5870 clocks, which would make it cheaper

Indeed, you can clock a 5970 up to 5870 clocks, but which will OC better from there? I'd wager the two 5870s have far more potential, particularly if running Asus bios on two Vapor-X's, for example.

the 5950 is just underclocked, so they'll clock around the same.. also the 5970 is unlocked...

got onto some retailers and all have said getting 5870 stock with the big one mainly being the sapphire 5870s. Is Overclockers getting stock in? Or am I going to have to cancel the order not to mention quite a few places guarantee stock and selling it cheaper at around 280-290 pounds.

Sent a webnote and all I got is no ETA. Probably didn't even call.

Just a pain in the ass to cancel an order because got to wait ages for the refund to come in.

you know, most places take the money on dispatch, not right away.

just a quick note to say i rang up on friday & was told i was 11/24 in the asus queue for the 5850 (ordered on 10th nov). was also told it was the shortest of the queue's & that "they'd been hoping to fill up the backlog by end of next week". i hope they're right :D:D

This is the first time I have ordered from OCUK and if their customer service is anything to go by, it will be the last. I have posted in the customer forums asking for some type of ETA, a week, a month or next year and I've not heard anything...not even a reply to tell me they don't have an ETA.

I find it shocking that they can't keep their customers up to date with a £1300 order they have placed.

Ditto. Could someone please clear this up for me? What exactly is the hold up on the cards? I've read low yields from TSMC (which were supposed to fixed already), slow delivery methods and price jacking conspiracies. At the moment, it feels like all 3.
