5820K to Ryzen?

I thought you said we don't how it performs until 2nd, official benchmarks and suddenly you're quoting leaks when they go in favor of intel...?? nice

I think those benchies are a bit suspect. For example if all those chips are at stock, then on other reviews of Kabylake, the 6800k has suddenly had a performance boost.

Yes. But now temperatures maybe an issue. Or if you get a smart fan controller, they can be quite expensive. Then there is the question of just as much noise under load. Is the Op ok with noise when under load. If no, he either need to get a better CPU cooler, or reduce the power consumption of his chip. That means slowing it down. If he's ok with less performance, that's an option I guess. I personally wouldn't want to go backwards, so I would look for a system that offered the same or better performance with lower power consumption.
You've hit the nail on the head there. I was thinking about the 1700 as it is 65W TDP so it will need less active cooling, that and I hate my motherboard (It's actually good, just not superb fan control)

for me to have STABLE 4.4 i need 1.36vcore 4.5 is only benchmark stable at 1.39... Wont boot on 125 strap no matter what (had 3 different x99 motherboards) cause of that cant do more than 2666 on memories. So when u got **** chip like mine 5820k then Ryzen looks more than promising !!!
You don't need 2666 ram on x99 2400 is fine, 100 strap is fine too

For me its NOT ENOUGH !!! NEED MORE OVERCLOCK !!!! Especially i gotten overclocking plan on my cpu i would run it at 1.45 if it gave me higher stable max oc. Would not care if it burns in one year.

Pointless upgrade

As said

Who wants overpriced x99 on the secondhand market when you can just get Ryzen :p

X99 was overpriced and now you want to take even more of a cut ?

Lol

X99 would be an expensive option now but don't forget the platform is over two years old! I have had great value out of my sub 300 5820k over the past two years.
