Depending on your budget, there are loads of options.
B550 Tomahawk is a popular choice. I have one myself and its quite an Impressive piece of kit. Plenty of BIOS options and overclocked my 3600 nicely.

From memory, there are x570 choices like the auros elite (I think) which is popular too.

Your motherboard manufacturer will release a bios update. It will be an official download off the manufacturer website.
That said not all boards earlier than 570 ot 550 will be getting a compatible bios.
You may be lucky and get a beta version but failing that it will probably mean a new motherboard or a dodgy 3rd party bios.
Check in with your motherboard manufacturer to see if they intend to release a Zen 4 compatible bios for your MoBo

At launch its supporting X570 and B550 with B450 and X470 entering beta support in January (according to Gamers Nexus). No mention of B350 so I think you will have to

Theres an X570 tomahawk too, I use one and its incredibly solid
 
I hope this isn't like the 3080/3090 launch. I'd prefer a pre order system rather than another bot infested frenzied scramble. Pre orders would allow retailers to sift out the bots in good time.

I really want a 5950x
 
Looking forward to a 5950x ;-) Just building my new desktop... last time I had a windows machine it was an Intel Celeron maybe 15 years go! Currently waiting on my Strix 3090.. hopefully everything will arrive for the Winter time at home.

In case there is a pre-order does OCUK give the heads up for it? Cant wait.

@Gibbo, what are the numbers looking like for the initial batch if you've been able to order them already? Reckon they'll be a decent amount or will it be like the 3900 where they were really hard to get hold of initially

If I buy a new mobo now - x570 tomahawk or X570 gigabyte elite will it work out do the box?

You will need to update the BIOS, so if you don't have an existing AM4 socket CPU, make sure you get a mobo that can flash without CPU.
