650D suggestions

I replaced the front fan with a Bitfenix 230mm Spectre and used the rubber mounts with a couple of rubber washers to space it back from the grille a bit. At 40% (using Asus Fan Xpert rather than the case fan controller) it's effectively inaudible. I may do the grille removal as well at some point but there's no pressing need for it at the moment.

Be interested to see the work-in-progress pics though - good luck

Little update, those Bitfenix orange led fans i bought, useless! The led's are about as bright as a 2 year old, and they can only be mounted as an exhaust. So only 1 at the top, and had to stick to the stock fan for the front for now.

The case cutting went well, will post pics later on.

I might have to see if i can borrow a dremel from someone, dont really want to fork out the money for something i'll only use once.

Ignore the sharp edges, these will be filed down eventually. The noise has completely disappeared now! However, the noise of the movement of air is still quite noisy, so I recommend some very quiet fans.

Nah, easy. Needn't even use a dremel if you're not bothered by a rough finish. Could just snip each of the thin bits with some wire cutters.

I suppose I could just use some wire cutters... theres a file lying around somewhere too. I could also get some black rubber edging to mask any imperfections.

Nice work on the cutting :) I haven't used the 200mm Bitfenix, but the 230mm ones fit nicely, are quiet and move a decent amount of air. Bit surprised the 200mm ones can only be mounted as exhaust - how come?

looking good, i'll be doing the rubber edging as well, infact i have it, however just been too lazy to take the bugger apart again.

I used the raised lip around the grill as a guide to cut mine, left a clean finish, PITA though and i went through like 12 of those crappy cutting discs(those things are dangerous).

I use rubber prongs that came with the MegaFlow in mine, keeps vibrations away :)

I cut the grill using wire cutters, took about 6 minutes.

You got some rubber doofers with your MegaFlow? I only got screws so Ive had to use some other random rubber things which don't quite fit property :(

I think so, or maybe I kept a few spare from my Noctua fans and the other golf ball fans I have spare I can't remember :p
