6700 XT Owners Thread

I got my 6700xt deliverd today and it was a squeeze to get in the case but all ok but it makes one of the fans make a noise which i have traced to the psu which is a corsair tx 750 which i have had for a few years and was working fine with my vega ok , so im not sure why the psu is macking more noise but possibly due to more power draw macking the psu fans work harder ?

My Sapphire was delivered today and bloody hell its huge

nzxt h510 case sits about a inch from the front mounted radiator fan if it was a full length

running sweat as a nut near silent a tiny bit of coil whine under load but no fan noise under any load and cool as a cucumber will 60 ish but you know what I mean

played a little bit of BFV and nothing fazed it v2 mehh who cares no stutters nothing just breezes past it all

the RGB is ok but downloaded the app and turned it to solid blue

Thank you, that makes it quite clear.. looks like I will be fine with 550W .. 332W GPU + 65W for CPU, those are the main power draws? In the event something goes wrong is the worst outcome my PSU gets fried? Or could it potentially affect my other components?

it doesnt seem to be drawing a massive amount more than my rx5700

What I am trying to work out now is which game to buy to really give this card a ride, RDR2 or Cyberpunk. I know both are good games, but trying to decide which will really wow me in the graphics department. Any suggestions?

Control is suposed to be good

proud new owner of a 6700XT.. trying to fit this Sapphire model into my micro ATX rig was certainly a squeeze! But in the end a very snug fit and a lovely looking card.

its bloody massive but a lovely looking thing

how are you finding the temps and what case did you squeeze it into

Sapphire nitro 6700xt delivered today, swapped out my 5700xt within a few minutes, no change of drivers and everything is working great.

Nice boost in frames at 1440p and card is whisper quiet.

Try quake 2 rtx on steam for free, its just got a update to make it run on vulkan with ray tracing and performance suppose to be improved. Its a good way i think to try out ray tracing at least for free on new cards.

I was one driver behind and forgot to update before the cards got swapped

so had to a quick driver uninstall but that sorted it for me

I wanted a 3070 but glad I have this. 3070 owners are reporting 8gb causing stuttering in Watch Dogs Legion albeit with Ray Tracing and it's visible online in some benchmarks of the game compared to Nvidia cards with greater VRAM.

It wont be the fans, it will be the electronics. Some cards have made my PSU whine and grumble in the past too, it doesn't seem to be related to the amount of power being drawn so I don't know what it is! My PSU whines a bit with a 6700XT, and years ago it whined with a GTX780, but was absolutely fine (or at least much less noticable) with two R9 390 in Crossfire.
same and I thought my old r9 390 was big
My Fighter is tiny. :D
Not a euphemism.

Yeah I was also shocked by the size of these cards, looks great in the case though, love the RGB lighting on the red devil.

And it handles everything at 1440p with relative ease. I think in the current market this GPU is great a buy, still much cheaper than a 3070, and very close in performance (sometimes better).

What prices are these generally going for (not including the FE and reference unobtainiums)?

Undervolted and overclocked. 1080mV, 2735 max frequency (but it usually hits about 2650 without raising the power limit). Memory at 2138, raised max frequency to 2150. All in the radeon software. Think I could probably drop the voltage some more, but can't be bothered just yet.
I'm starting to think mine might be faulty. I'm happy with the performance for the price but it's a long way off advertised boost clocks no matter what I do. If the GPU market wasn't in such a state I'd be tempted to send it back for a replacement.

Installed the Nitro+ last night (it's not a Gaming OC as the product name said, though I think they are the same card tbh).
As others have said it's a big lad, took some wrangling to get into my case.

I'm getting a driver error when running 3d Mark, eventually managed to get through it and it's about 3x the score my RX 480 was.
I didn't uninstall the previous drivers, but when I went to install the Radeon software for it there was a tickbox to do a clean install and remove previous ones (which I ticked).

Another quirk is that in HWMonitor it only shows GPU and memory utilisation but no temperatures or anything else. GPU-Z and the radeon software show the temps, would this just be because the card is new to market and HWMonitor needs an update?

I do have a little concern I may need a new PSU, it's a 660W Seasonic Platinum so should be fine, I have had it 10 years though...

Not tried any games yet but I'm off work the next 4 days.

One of the problems you might see with old but powerful psu's like that is that they often had 3 or 4 12 volt rails with a lower current on each one rather than a single high current rail which is typical today. It depends how the load gets split, as you might have say 43amps across 3 rails but no more than 22amps from any single rail and if you have a high enough current draw from one it will trip.
