6870/6850 benchmarks (for real)

Yea, weren't they putting all the higher end cards into the 69XX series now, where as the 68XX will be more of an entry level card?

So the equivalent 5870 would now be the 6970.
 
I thought AMD changed the naming system for their graphics card.

6750 to 6850 and 6770 to 6870.

While the high end cards will be called 6950, 6970 and 6990.

I could be wrong but that's what I read a while ago.

when amd let us all know about 6xxx cards will they show the specs / benchys for all or just the 6870ish cards

1. there is a chance they are not real ( the ati logo is a give away )
2. 69xx cards are supposed to be the 480 killers / players

dont believe nothing until amd say so

You may want to see what the 6970 performs like before making a decision.;)

Xfastest are a reliable source when it comes to early performance figures, I believe they are legit, now we just need some 6970 numbers.

Really don't get why they opted for a new naming scheme. Was everyone finding the last one so amazingly hard to figure out or something? All this does is add mass confusion in reviews where people will look at the numbers and scratch their head as to wtf is going on.
