7,000 MB/s PCIE 4.0 drives

Can't be long now. I heard that the SK hynix s31 gold has 128layer nand and may or may not be pci-e gen 4 but according to storage review it was quite competitive sometimes beating the 970pro (also its an eco friendly drive).

Yes I'm waiting for these 7 GB/s drives. I see there is more information out now on the Phison E18 controller. Looks pretty good. I wouldn't need to upgrade for years with a few of those and a Zen 3 CPU with 32GB of RAM.
 
agreed, i'm sat on a R5 3600 and a 2TB sata drive I picked up for £120, but fully intending to be on R7 4800 and 2TB Gen4 NVME as soon as parts are available and affordable.
