And in 5 years time it will be 10 a day. Where's the scientific evidence?
What's so hard to believe about that? Soup is just blended vegetables...
Indeed, most places abroad tend to have 7 a day as the recommendation. We only ended up with 5 a day as it was seemingly more achievable for those on the **** poor typical UK diet. Small changes and all that. The fact so many people find "5 a day" so impossibly hard, just goes to show what a sorry state the UK general populations' diet is in.
I mean seriously how is 5 a day hard? 1 fruit mixed in with breakfast, 1 veg with lunch, 2 with dinner and 1 fruit for some pudding some where along the course of the day. That's 5. It's easy enough (vegetarian or not), unless of course you're eating complete garbage every day
Even though it is an April's fool - I eat over 7 a day. It's easy to do.
Cucumber, cherry tomatoes, avocado, spinach, apple, banana, beans, carrots and broccoli today - and that's a typical day really.
Recent studies of vegetables, fruits and wheat have revealed a 5 to 35 percent decline in concentrations of some vitamins, minerals and protein over the last half-century, a phenomenon that has come to be known as 'the dilution effect.'
Agreed, I eat much the same and I am amazed that people find 5+ portions of fruit a day hard to contemplate.
What diet due you eat to avoid fruit and veg guys? I literally can't imagine how you can get through the day avoiding them.
The veg is almost transparent it has been processed so much and we are told not to boil veg as it destroys the goodness. Just wouldn't have expected a tin of heavily processed tomatoy syrup to be 2-3 portions.

I mix that with a protein shake. Lasts about 3-4 months so works out about £2 -£3 a month.
Nice. I might try that.![]()
What that fruit and veg is more healthy than junk food? I imagine a fair bit.
