7 days to die - worth the hard earned yet?

Servers are dedicated and persistent. PvE ones have rules that prevent you from killing players or messing with their bases. But you can still do both, expect a speedy ban though if you are caught (player kills are announced server wide). PvP ones allow you to kill and destroy bases.

PvE you can set the ini to have no player damage and you can set the claim stone so it takes 100000000000000 hits to destroy anything so you can make PvE only quite easily. The setting to make the claim stone take 0 damage at all used to be broke, hence why you set the damage really high. I should think that is fixed now though.

Be careful which server you choose, a lot of servers people host from home and they shut the servers down when they don't play. You need to find a proper 24/7 hosted one.

Might give it a go, its roughly £12-£16 depending on what site you use. Spent that money on worse

EDIT - Ended up buying it on steam, Had some money left in steam wallet. Add me on steam if anyone is interested in Coops and showing me the ropes. Button thing is in sig

I'm I tempted. the play throughs look reasonably good.
There actually seeks to be a decent amount if zombies and craftables.
Is there a hard core mode? Where if you get bit you die. I want a zombie game which differentiates between bites and hands, get hurt by hands, get killed by a single bite.

However been stung by survivor games being rubbish
And secondly it needs to be closer to £10

Edit -where have you seen it for £12?

I'm tempted too, looks a game that I could spend hours on happily but I feel the real enjoyment comes when playing with friends and none of my friends would play it haha!

Those prices I quoted are slightly out, once it detected my IP originated from the UK it added 20%. You can get it dirt cheap from Kinguin using a Russian VPN. Think there is a guide on their website.

I played for about 30 minutes last night. Takes some getting used too but managed to survive my first night in a petrol station staying mainly undetected. Crafted a stone axe which is super quick and easy to do but it doesn't last long. Found myself cutting down a boat load of tree's because the amount of wood you need to set up a basic shelter is insane.

I'm liking it a lot not that I've done much keep dying. At least the zombies are hard and reasonably plentiful.
Still just learning.
Only realised I could repair simple stuff without a repair kit.

All youtubers have so many settings set to easy, makes the game look far easier than it is.

Just trying to find somewhere good to have a base is my main issue, other than dying. Need somewhere to dump loot and be safe at night.

Laptop couldn't handle it, but working really well on Steam Home Stream.

Just thought i'd revive a 7dtd thread as the new alpha patch is just around the corner. Some really cool new stuff added, its really shaping up to be a great game. I stopped playing back in December as they originally said it would be released in time for christmas, so I'm really eager to get stuck back into it. Of all the survival type games about this is definitely my favourite. According to the devs the experimental release should drop on Monday.

If you haven't played Alpha 15 yet either, then you are in for a real treat. Both these alphas combined have added so much, it feels like a new game. Some really cool points of interest to discover, like underground bunkers and a massive canyon. The electricity and traps added to this new alpha along with the new paint tool and new blocks, like bullet proof glass will add so much fun to the base building side of it.

Also looking forward to the next alpha as apparently they will focus on AI, which this game really does need. Along with adding in the Behomoth zombie that they were supposed to be adding to this alpha.

The Alpha 16 experimental build should hopefully be out next monday, then the public release will be a couple of weeks later. You can opt into the experimental build via steam instead of waiting, but there could be the odd bug that needs ironing out.

What was the last build you played? If you havent played Alpha 15 yet I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how the game has developed.

Oh blimey, god only knows, going by my post last page probably then. Back in 2015. I'll have a quick go now before I hit the sack.

That'll turn into a 3 in the morning jobby in no time :D

I'd wait till monday before you get too invested as it'll need a fresh save if you want to play the new A16 build.

7dt2 is probably the best zombie game ever if you can find a decent server.

I've yet to play on a server, just played mainly solo and a bit of coop with a couple of friends, but have been thinking about giving it a try. I got a bit fed up with Rust as the community is toxic, is the 7dtd community decent? I enjoy the building aspect of the game the most, so wouldn't be happy if people kept trashing my base, but maybe a PVE server could be fun.

I'm finding A16 more of a challenge, which is a good thing. Just bumped into one of the new Dire wolves and nearly **** myself. Also makes it more tense at night in the first few days when you can hear wolves howling outside.

Harvesting seems a lot harder early game this time around. I'd usually start building a small base by day 3 or 4, but ive had to hold up in a prefab building. I'm dreading day 7 .
