£720 lighter ;)

Most expensive thing i ever bought for work was a badger hair softening brush, cost £50.00. Used when doing graining or marble effect paintwork

Nah pure water is really good at cleaning. After 3 cleans. Your windows will stay cleaner longer! It's 99% perfect. I would leave more smears if I was trad :)

OK, but the bit of the window that was missed 'cos Sinbad was doing his portholes with the long WFP is still dirty. :p

some really good LOL's in this thread. :)
also was expecting some blinged up lighter.

i work at blockpaving driveways and often see guys using poles to wash windows,
they can do a house now, quite quickly, but it takes a bit longer to set everything up. his water hose must have been at least 50m long  as he parked his van up, and then cleaned about 5 different houses without moving his van.

also you worked at Cardington, you must live in Bedfordshire?

They look good on paper but if you need to clean your windows any time in the winter it's a real pain. In fact, cleaning them any time runs the risk of extreme carpet staining. Maybe it's because I live in the city, but the windows here get covered in black crud from the diesel cars outside and it's a faff to clean. Not to mention in a small flat if the windows open inwards (mine do but are hinged on the sides), you need a lot of space inside as well as outside. Those look easier than what I have (which are all about 4ft square windows!).

EDIT: I need a window cleaner.

They go up and down like normal double hung windows but also inwards like that just for cleaning. I just clean them with window cleaner spray and paper towels - no mess, although it does take ages to do them all.

Aye mate beeston/sandy on the A1 :)

Ordered this bad boy

Mainly wanted it due to the weight of it. 720g compared to the shockers of 1500g!

So what's the most expensive thing you have bought for your business?

£620 is probably a drop in the ocean compared to other tools (snap on)!

Oh wow, I know the chap in that video. Heh, small world.

Do you work for a company or on your own BTR?

Self employed bud

then why does rain leave marks on my windows when it dries? might have something to do with the pollution in the air.. its not pure when it reachs us

If you are really interested in WFP I can show you why and upload a video. But I will explain a bit for you now.

When you clean windows trad you leave a film on the window. When it rains. The rain hits the film and re activates the soap. Kinda like if you spilled fairy washing up liquid outside and three day later it rained it would kinda bubble. That causes bubbles. Hence your spots :)

On the windows I clean. If I have stubborn bird mess. And I went to use a scraper to remove it. It's like running it across concrete. As the pure water strips off everything. If I did it on traditional glass with the film it glides.

The reason why WFP windows get dirty is due to traffic film and dirt sits on the frame.

Rain water usually has a TDS of anywhere between 0-8 PPM. But if you have windows cleaned traditional. That's why you will get spots :)

And if you dont have your windows cleaned at all. There will be traffic film and dirty frames. So rain water will still make it spot.

I could clean my house windows every 6 months. That's how good the system is. And I live next to the A1!!

i havent had my house windows cleaned in about 3years :P

our window cleaners just stopped coming one day lol no one has heard from them since and no one else has decided to take their place.
