7970 DCII can't overvolt

Done a bit of research and this person's in the same boat

Well, TriXX does something different to my card. When left to its own the card reduces gpu voltage in idle mode when it clocks down. However when I set gpu voltage with TriXX, the voltage always remains at its maximum set value.

Suggest disabling what your using to OC and run TRIXX and see how you get on. Note this is the slightly earlier version that allows set volts.

Only way I can have my tridef 3D.

RMA card, get a different 7970 if that's the case? I certainly wouldn't want to be restricted to 1.1v on a GPU that can run 1.3v and the high clocks that enables.

With the voltage nerf and your overclock, you're probably getting less performance than a decently overclocked 7870.

You'd have to be touched in the head to buy that.

All of the end users with that card can reach 1300mhz, and no single GPU from Nvidia could even get near the performance.

I see from your sig you have custom water, would it not be more sensible to get a reference 7970 and somehow include it in the water loop with a slightly larger rad etc?

Are you going to give me the 70 for a waterblock?

Thought you was loaded, buying all those different gpu's so often? :p

If not, here you go
