I went 680 because I fancied a change from my 7950

Yes, almost certainly at auction though not MM as they pay more I think, wouldnt be surprised if I get over £200 for it.

I am coming into some money soon so i hope there is a price war to bring these prices down. I like to play at the highest detail but over the years i have went to serious gaming to playing casual. I cant really agree with such high prices to play once or twice a week. My 6870 already does a good job.

Still though if prices come low enough i might get a gtx680/7970.

I'd say MM is safer in general.

will be rocking the 7950 OC in my home pc, but the kepler's does look nice, just not the 680.

But i am the market for new laptop, would not mind a decent Nvidia GT 670M-650M .

What is that 7970 overclocked at? Can't see it anywhere on that page

Its not even at the ccc limit. They gave it 16% and called it max oc lol.

What matters to me is what the 7970 can do at its limit, and what the 680 can do at its limit.

That is what I will use to judge them on.

I doubt either of the cards are clocked to their max 24x7 potential they rarely are in reviews.

From a range of tests it would appear the GTX680 is 15% faster on average overall which is nice tho you wouldn't really notice the difference in realworld blind testing - I think the 680 wins on bringing some reasonable and relevant new tech/features to the table tho while not all of them are limited to the 680 i.e. some features like adaptive vsync work on older nVidia cards too I would still see it as a win for 7970 v 680.
