8/2 Spoilers

Nearly 7, hit the post. Then defender rifled the ball from 5 yards right into cassias... crazy.

Liverpool on the other hand, been outplayed for the first 20 mins of 2nd half, then we picked it up again. Proves how much we need 2 strikers, 63% possession we had first half.

To be fair, we looked crap recently even with Gerrard, dunno whats up with us really. Playing good football in the middle of the park, failing to take numerous chances up front and leaking goals at the back. We'd be lucky to finish 4th at this rate.

We just need 2 GOALSCORERS. Cisse crouch and morientes arn't the answer.

We've been playing good football, been dominating teams but can't stick any chance away. None of our strikers have scored this year. Says it all

He's being overlooked by England because they have a fantastic English right-back in Gary Nevile ;)
I didn't say Hibbert is the best right back we have, but he's certainly good enough to be in the England squad. He's admittedly not that great going forward, but he's as good as Neville defensively IMO.

Without Gerrard you're nothing more than a mid-table team. A totally gutless performance so far from Liverpool. Its not as it Charlton have been that good!
If you look at the stats we do better when Gerrard is not playing. Like Rotty said we controlled the game as we did against Man U and Chelsea but just lacked any cutting edge. Normally very loyal to players but got to get rid of Morientes and Cisse, so we can bring in somebody that might score; Owen (Rumoured £12m buyout clause) and Defoe and we still need a right winger that will create something.
LOL just seen on SSN Richard Wright got injured in his warm up; fell over a "do not warm up in goal mouth" sign

You didn't control the game tonight at all! Charlton won 2-0 and hit the woodwork twice in the 2nd half. Admittedly, your passing did improve in the 2nd half but you created very little.

Did you actually watch the game tonight BaZ87?

Hope Real go on to slump into a worse run of form than us on the back of that lol.

They have actually been on the up and were looking to pass their sorry spell...

Was watching the Fiorentina-Inter game, well done to the Viola, surprisingly Luca Toni NOT scoring this time :p though he deserved one. Obviously i was hoping Inter got this win, but with Juve drawing to Parma (Del Piero missing a penalty!) it wasn't too bad. The two meet on Sunday, probably a make or break game for Inter for their slim title hope now.

Milan with a very convincing 5-1 win to Treviso, and well done to Roma too, that's 8 straight wins now, with a win against Cagliari 4-3 it finished. A record for the club. :)

Caught parts of and the last 20 or so minutes of the Chelsea game, Nice first goal from Robben, control from Crespo was beautiful. Feel sorry for Colchester having to play on that sorry state of a pitch! Come on Chelsea sort it out, spare change for them! ;)

Which game were you watching? Liverpool had 60% possesion. Chalton had a couple of counter attacks in the second half and got there goals from a dodgey penalty and a piece of poor defending, other than that it was all liverpool pressure without creating many opportunities.

other than the last 5 minutes of the first half, and opening 15/20 we did control *** game, made some good chances, but just don't have any one to finish.

We need a fully fit Robbie, and a decent top level striker.

Apologies, I thought you were another Evertonian who swore blind that he was better than Neville :p

I think Liverpool should be looking over their shoulders at the two north london rivals coming up rather than forward to Man U.

They're also going to be playing twice a week from now on, while Spurs just canter on playing once a week... Everyone around us playing domestic and European Cup football while we have only the league to play for and one of those much coveted CL places.

Jol must be looking forward to the next few months, I know I am :)

COYS :D

I think teams are quite happy to let us have possesion tho - thats the problem when they know we are toothless up front,so possesion stats are meaningless. And as much as i hate to say it,rather than unlucky tonight,we have been lucky in winning some of the matches we have done in Jan.One of our strikers hits some sort of run and we'll be back in business, otherwise :(
