when 29 percent of england fans thinking he is better than Gerrard, and the associated sports media and players voting him better than Gerrard, thats a lot of opinions (the majority of people who expressed them in fact) suggesting that Lampard is a better player.
The second statement of "Lampard is a better footballer than Gerrard, its not an opinion, its a fact."

As i said i agree that last season lampard was better over the course of the year. But as i have already said, when Gerrard and Lampard and on top form for me Gerrard is a better player an OPINION shared with the england manager who got caught saying that england would be in trouble if Gerrard, Rooney or Beckham got injured (no mention of Lampard). He has practically no weak aspects to his game where as Lampard does; defensively Lampard couldn't play in the Makelele role where as Gerrard can, Lampard couldn't play Right midfield or Right Back, then there are non technical aspects of the game where Gerrard is better such as pace, power, leadership qualities ect.
So where you get that "fact" that Lampard is better or is it your opinion?

Using Lampard winning the England player of the year award is a bit spurious tho.If the people who voted are dumb enough to pick Lampard over Rooney then their opinion is not worth listening too

Lampard IS a better player than Gerrard, he plays the game better than Gerrard, you dont catch him blowing out his arse trying to be a one man army, he is a far more cultured player.

The use of the word 'fact' here is absurd: it is not a fact, it is an opinion.

Despite Lampard winning the player of the year awards, that does not 'factually' make him a better player, it merely means that 'factually' it is of more individual people's opinion - the people who voted in the polls - that he is a better player, which in turn meant he won an award. The award is based purely upon opinion so it is impossible to then factually say that the result of that poll makes one player a better player: the only fact that can be drawn from it is that more people have the opinion that lampard is the better player.

It's no different to comparing two colours - or, say, any work of art: if we were discussing which was the nicest colour of the colours in the rainbow, or the best-sounding of beethoven's symphonies or the prettiest of monet's paintings, there is no definitive answer which is factually true. It is all completely opinion and therefore completely outside the realms of fact.

Why, when last season Lampard was better than Rooney?

Not for England he wasn't - and that is what the award was for.Best English player i wouldn't argue with,but not for his performances in an England shirt.
