8 PACK MEMORY RANGE GROWING: SAY HELLO TO 8 PACK RIPPED EDITION & 32GB KITS!!!

The problem with Taiphoon is it trips up on this part a lot.

The G. Skill Neo kits are A2 but Taiphoon reads A1: https://i.imgur.com/J3Y07Wu.png

Even the Patriot that is known as A2 reads A0: https://i.imgur.com/kCSDLlC.png

Someone on the overclocking reddit stated to me that the Dark Pro is actually A2 so it's tough to say without a visual inspection.

Well it sounds right because A0 is not a great bin where as the Dark Pro sticks are excellent overclockers. And the A2 profile from the dram calculator works a treat on my sticks.

@Drollic

See for yourself the link shows 4400 Vipers Membench score for 32Gb (4x8Gb) at 3800 memory and fabric.
I may have a very lucky combination of cpu, motherboard and memory to achieve this score so not claiming its all down to the Vipers (But it could be)

What's the score for just 2 sticks at those same timings as it would be interesting to see how much 4 sticks improves the scores?.

Maybe later in the week as I have to pull cpu clean and reseat.
I fitted a new mounting system for waterblock and atm its getting too hot too fast if running anything intensive. (Cinebench etc).
So something is adrift. Need to check TIM pattern & sort it before anything else.

4 sticks are supposed to be better as I understand it (If you can get 32Gb to run at fast timings).

I have seen other Membench scores with 3800 at CL14 and tbh they are not as good as mine.

Actually found a previous run done with 2 sticks but its an older version of Dram calc 1.6.2 so maybe not a valid direct comparison.

As said will try to remember and do an update with 2 sticks when the cooling issue is resolved.

With 2 sticks I can run with gear down off.
4 sticks I run with gear down on.

I am not about to buy the 8 pack ram to compare :)
But I would expect them to be capable of similar just waiting for someone to do it.

This maybe a very stupid question, but when inputting your own memory frequency, timings and voltage from DRAM calc, do you still need XMP turned on/selected in the bios?

This is my first time tweaking timings, in the past I've always set XMP on and left it to it.

Thanks guys, I do have it turned off. I was having issues booting so I've relaxed my timings a little. I started another thread, will see how it starts up tomorrow.

Below results are all run at 3600 Mem and IF with Dram Calc V 1.7.3 Membench Default for comparison between 2 and 4 sticks of Dram at exactly the same Bios settings.

3600 Default scores
2 sticks 199.91
4 sticks 195.48

Well it was up for a whole day and eventually proved a non issue so I removed it.

My original question was around SOC voltage. Because I found out that if I push my SOC to 1.2v I can run an FCLK of 1900. But with testing I don't think it was stable as my dram calc default scores where truly pants.

At 1867 with no voltage modifications I can boot and even game but not convinced it is stable either as I still get audio corruption. If I push the SOC this clears up. But it sill requires as much as 1.15v if not more at 1867MHz to be stable and as far as I understand it pushing the SOC on Ryzen 3000 is not good due to PCI-E4 issues. Plus my dram calc default scores where still pants. So I gave up.

Potentially silly question, but will the TDPPD432G3200HC14ADC01 kit (2x16GB 3200CL14) definitely work at 3600CL16 or do I need to buy the TDPPD432G3600HC16GDC01 kit?

The TDPPD432G3600HC16GDC01 kit is a LOT more expensive than the Crucial BL2K16G36C16U4B kit (2x16GB 3600CL16) which is unfortunately out of stock elsewhere.

You can see here it comes with three configurations (specifications tab)

So it will definitely (99.99999% assurance) run at 16 16 16 16 36 3600MHz at 1.35v and should be overclockable well beyond as well.

I can only speak from my own experiences. That yes I was able to run it at CL16 3600MHz. I am currently running it at 3600MHz CL14 (1.47v) and others have run it at 3800MHz CL14 so I can't see why you would have any issues either.

Got my 3600CL14 today....been at it for hours. Pretty pleased with this. @1.47v. I am fairly sure I can get it lower - had some issues with the Motherboard itself, so was just glad to get stable. Great memory though - outperforms my Trident Z 3200CL14 by a long shot.
