8 PACK MEMORY RANGE GROWING: SAY HELLO TO 8 PACK RIPPED EDITION & 32GB KITS!!!

Hi,

I'm wondering what memory to get for a b550 build, it'll have a temporary 3000 CPU until 4000 comes out and then I'll be dropping that in

I don't really want to manually OC I really want to just use XMP profiles like I have on my current board that worked fine

What kind of speeds and amount of ram should I be looking at to cover now and 4000 series when it's released? I looked at the 32gb 3600 C16 but at £230 it's a bit pricey!

You probably wouldn't notice any difference other than benchmarks going for a cheaper kit especially if your only planning to run XMP.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £133.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

That might be the case now but what about when Ryzen 4000 comes out, surely it will take advantage of faster ram?

The issue I have is my brother is buying my current setup Inc the ram which is already 3200 C16 so it'll feel a bit wastefull to not ensure I'm getting faster ram to cover current and next gen CPUs

If that's the case get the Patriot Viper 4400MHz ram then. Downclock it for current CPU's and overclock it for the 4000 series.

You would get more perf by spending the £100 difference of the ram on the CPU or Gpu instead.
