@Guest2 Just to make sure did you independently test the fclk and ram speeds to see what the reason is? i.e. 1900 fclk with 4000C16 to make sure the RAM isn't the issue?

Speaking of Unify I saw that the B550 Unify silently came into the UK but the X version is still MIA. £250...

Yep. 1900 IF / DDR 4000C16 works fine. Poor compared to 3800C14 / 1900 IF mind, but expect thats because IF ratio goes out the window

Yeah it's a waiting game now for a BIOS improvement. Good to see other confirmation of 4000C16.

I tried reading this whole thread so might have missed it but...

Has anyone had good results running 4 x 8gb modules?

I was looking at the XTREEM " EDITION" 16GB (2X8GB)DDR4 PC4-32000C18 4000MHZ and considering if they'd be good as a quad of single ranks with some hefty overclocking. I can't say I've seen much about how good these are though.

I have these but in 3600mhz speed. I've literally just upgraded from a 3600 to a 5800x today still same motherboard and I could get IF 1900mhz and 3800mhz speed CL14 and tight secondary and tertiary timings. And at 1.5v daily. I love them. I paid £260 or maybe more for the 32gb kit about 10 months ago.

I can easily recommend these! setup in Sig

any more questions I'm happy to help.

When I've got a free day I'll be OC'ng these with the 5800x going to try a cheeky 4000mhz and 2000 IF lol

Thinking about getting one of these 2 x 16gb dual rank b die kits. Is there any major binning difference between them to warranty 20 gbp premium. Will most likely get 5900x or maybe a 5950x and also tune Ram on the b550 gaming edge wifi.

I'd expect they are the same bin or very close. Personally, I'd be ok with the 3200 c14 kit.

Oh damn £179.99 for the 3200 kit is a deal. Yeah they are basically the same bin just an XMP profile change.

It'd be nice to see more benchies of the higher end kit and some of their overclock-ability...surprised this isn't a selling point given that the RAM is endorsed by 8pack.

Samsung B Die 2x16 for <£200 = yes.

Crucial are no longer putting 4000+ capable E die on Ballistix as they are hand picking them for Ballistix max (£350 for 2x16 4000 CL18, £450 for 4400 CL19).

Not at all worth it though if you already got a lucky LT Sport kit.

3600 CL14 / 4000 CL15 / 4400 CL16 are current targets to try and get a 2x16 kit to (needing 1.45-1.55v). Probably only a 1% improvement between each though.

I was reading a review of the G. Skill 2x16GB 4000 kit published yesterday.

DDR4 PCBs are broken down into three major layout designs. The older design, called A0, has the ICs spaced out evenly on the PCB and can limit the maximum frequency achievable. The newer A1 and A2 designs (which are effectively the same) place the ICs closer together and closer to the PCB connection edge. The A2-style PCB has become the new unofficial industry standard because it allows for higher frequencies and generally better compatibility. As a result, motherboard manufacturers are now routing memory traces to coincide with the IC placement on A2-style PCBs.

^ 4000 CL16 at just 1.4v is magic for 2x16 Gb. Should easily push to CL15 1.45+v and up towards 4400 CL16 at 1.5+v (on a capable board and CPU).

3800 CL14 was almost amazing but then I noticed its on 8 Gb modules.

I really wanted Samsung B die, but they were £350 for 2x16 3200 CL14 vs £150 for my LT Sport.

I refer to them as LT Sport now because it turns out that the new 3600 Ballistix kits are junk.

Die density will always state 8 Gb on single or dual rank kits. This was 100% with 16GB modules (see organization - 2 ranks)

Ok Im impressed. I would buy that if I didn't already have Micron E dies, but not worth bothering with over what I have.
