84% Of Gamers Do Not Meet Recommended Spec for BF3

I love all this nonsense. A 6950 to play on medium settings? I don't think so. It's all hype and BS geared towards getting PC gamers excited about the game and buying new hardware that they don't need.

I am running a Z68 PRO3 mobo, i5-2500k, 8gb DDR3 and a 6870 which makes mincemeat of everything. BF3 is a step up technologically compared to the most demanding games now (crysis 1+2/witcher 2 etc) no doubt however there is little doubt in my mind that I will be able to play at a good framerate with high settings.

It makes me laugh, people getting their knickers in a twist with their 580's in SLI and panicking in case they need an upgrade.

Well, I was going to buy a 6950 for this to replace my 5850, but it turns out I've won a second XFX 5850 Black Edition on eBay so Crossfire it is. I hope it runs ok.

Its already been comfirmed that recommended is for high.

Just bought the 6950 in this weeks sale. Coming from a 4850. I'm thinking quad core would be a marginally better upgrade in terms of performance but I'll just have to slug it out on my wolfdale a lil' while longer.

It's running like a bit of a donkey on my rig at 2560x1600 - will post some detailed fps results as well as the relevant video settings to go with it shortly.

If that's true then this game will be coded very inefficiently. It looks good but not that good. About as good as crysis 2, which doesn't need a 580 or hugely overclocked quad core cpu to run at near max and decent fps.

Runs pretty well on my setup, with all settings on High, about 45-50fps average, haven't seen it go below 40.

Screen res: 2048x1152
Graphics card: 5870 1GB stock clocks
CPU: Core i7 2600k @4.5Ghz w/16GB 1600Mhz RAM

Will probably end up going crossfire 6950s to run this at max.
