84% Of Gamers Do Not Meet Recommended Spec for BF3

looks like I will be playing low settings on my Asus 4890 TOP edition @ 1920x1080

not sure a new gfx card would work with my hx520 or even more am sure they will be bottlenecked by my q6600 (@ stock as mobo is pants and will no longer boot at 3ghz boohoo)

damn pc games lol

Happy with my 6950's with this news, but lets be fair, its bound to change again in a week, the fact is we will not know for sure until it gets reviewed. And of course ATi/AMD owners will have to deal with the usual broken crossfire on release day we seem to see so much of these days.

5850 OC to 820/1100 at a res of 1600x900 will hopefully run the game just fine like BF2, Guess i will have to ditch my reliable 10.3 drivers tho :)

Recommended specs are yet official?

Sorry fella, Mistyped there. It was meant to say, "yet to be official", in otherwords, we are still waiting for the official specs to be released.

Loads of people asking "will bf3 run on my pc", and people replying "yes, perfectly well", or something like that, When the recommended specs arent even official yet.

Apologies for the typo error, was torn between trying to write my post and forced to listen to my mrs nag on at me about buying yet another push chair :D

I haven't seen this before, but it fills me full of confidence:

By the way BF3 is now up on systemrequirementslab: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ which also says my specs exceed the recommended. It lists the 'recommended' card as 1gb with DX11 (shader 5.0), in otherwords the 560Ti :)

Why does it mean a GTX 560Ti?

1GB, DX11, Shader Model 5.0 could describe a GT 430 and I doubt that card would get you very far.

Very misleading title. It's 84% of STEAM users, not GAMERS.

Many Steams user are not exactly gamers, not like the kind of people who buy these kinds of FPS games anyway.
A lot of Steam users play basic 2D games or simple indie games. They have things like netbooks and Intel graphics. Obviously none of these people will be interested in BF3 in the first place.

Am I the only person who thinks this would be a good thing? I'm sick of running games at their full settings at getting over 60fps average, that means my graphics cards are being limited by vsync, no thankyou. :p
